I'm redecorating my bedroom. I was wondering if anyone had any feng shui tips at all? Even simple things like placing a cloth over your computer monitor at night. Anything, from furniture placements to colour to integrating a work environment (computer and desk area) into the bedroom. I don't need to read comments about feng shui being bull, design to my own liking, etc. (inevitably, i will be.)

thanks!

- make your bedroom more yin than yang; have pastels as color rather than bright red
- get yang objects such as audio, video and the internet out of the bedroom
- do not put mirrors inside the bedroom
- have a headboard against a solid wall
- do not put a bed, where it can distract a hallway, like in front of a door
- do not put plant and water features like an aquarium in a bedroom
- do not store things under a bed

I have read a few articles on Feng Shui but I'm no expert by far. When I say a few that really means 2 or 3.
If I understand right never place your bed in the path of the doorway. Something about negative energy flowing throughout the hallway, and no kind of electronics in the Feng Shui room at all. Again, bad waves.
I hope I helped, please forgive me if I'm wrong.

The placing of cloth on computer is for the fact that electricity gives out reverse polarity which is bad for health (ps. those stays in US near power generator have high tedency to fall sick!).

Even the mirror are bad to face your bed head on! Why superstition? Actually is logic, when you wake up you suddenly see yourself in the mirror you would thought for a split secs that some one is looking at all!

But you have kinda of spot on ... design on your own liking ... sorry to tell you this. The actual meaning of Feng Shui is the art of Placement. What types and colours that you feel comfortable are really the tell tale sign that your mind is telling to you that it works for you. Hope you understand this.

Unless you are really into Geomancy then the Art of Placement will be even into the whole house, looking into your elements, charting your birth charts, and even changing of room etc.

Regards.

Usually you would need to move doorways. This is why I don't feng shooey. Feng shui is based on the golden ratio. You can keep the bed as long as it conforms to positioning according to the number phi.

Place your bed where you can see the doorway from the pillows. Best to get the computer out of the room - to have energy from the electronics or the work aspect is going to interrupt your sleep. Pink is a very good color as it relates to love/children. As always, keep the room even - if you have odd corner angles, place mirrors there to balance the shape. Hope it helps some!

Have a turtle at your back(wall) dragon on your left, tiger on your right, phoenix in front(open space). At least thats for your bed. I forgot what the tiger and dragon should be, just where they should be. I have ceramic representations near my bed. Near my bed I also have a 40 pound selenite crystal (for restful sleep and good dreams) with a hole drilled in it and a pink nightlight bulb inside to light it up so softly. I have a dreamcatcher in my window to catch bad dreams and listen to ocean tapes when I sleep. I have a down mattress pad, comforter and feather pillow. Sleep in a cloud and you will wake up light on your feet. Notwithstanding party nights........
