I got my 10 year old cat when he was only 5 weeks old, covered with fleas.... I bathed him in kitten flea shampoo, picked off fleas,...

But, I made a habit of giving him a bath once a week, clipped his nails, and cleaned his ears, too; simply to get him used to it. Alot of baths, I didn't even use shampoo, so as not to dry his coat out.

Now; at 10 years old, and 22 pounds, I only bathe him 4 times a year, but because he LOVES the water, I must lock the bathroom door when I take a bath or shower....he'll join me ( OR ANYBODY ELSE ! ) He also loves a bubble bath. Go figure. But he's better then alot of my grooming dogs, both in the tub and on getting his claws clipped.

As a rule most cats don't need a bath; but it's nice to be ABLE to bathe your cat when it really needs it. It also helps cut down on shedding fur. Brush the cat well, before the bath, use a comb when it's shampooed up, and then again when the cat is dry.

If he's hissing, it sounds like they did not cope with the kittens too a lot, which makes him getting used to you slightly extra of a project. For fleas, use liquid dish cleansing soap which kills fleas. Use a metallic flea comb on the face, head and ears after the tub, and repeat the tub in 7 to 10 days - significant. 6. Kitten nutrition.

You don't really ever have to give a kitten a bath. If it has fleas, it's simple to just apply a topic solution(like Advantage from the vet) on the back of their neck once a month.
Even if they get something in their fur, you can generally remove it without giving them a bath.

Is she running around in mud like a little piggy?! Don't bathe too often, it dries their skin and make sure you use a mild soap and not much. Rinse well. Brushing can take out a lot of stuff from the fur and also rubbing them with a damp wash cloth too, saves you the bath.

Don't bathe cats unless it's the only way and only do it ONCE, using a shampoo just for kittens. Shampooing dries their skin terribly and can lead to constant itching, leading to other issues. Cats naturally know to clean themselves. There are pet wipes you can buy at the pet store to remove dirt. You can just towel dry and excess dampness and brush them out.

Cats shouldn't be bathed because it takes away from the natural oils they need to stay healthy. For a dirty kitten, I'm guessing your talking about her face after she eats, I would just use a washcloth to wipe her clean.

you never have to give a kitten a bath, however if you do it make sure she doesnt catch a chill. Cats usually clean themselves, however that kitten sounds too young to even do more than barely walk.

That's way too young to bathe a kitten.

It isn't necessary to bath a kitten or even an adult cat (cats constantly groom themselves) unless it's a show cat.
