when I say mock, it is not in a rude way, I meant more along the lines of imitating it.

I am saddened that you Americans mock us Brits. As far as I know I have never heard anyone mock the American accent or the American people. I do know quite few Brits who are not so keen on Mr. Bush though, but personally I like him.
Although you might like Tony Blair and most of us don't anymore!
We have American friends here and we love them very much, We enjoy learning about how you do things differently from us in many way, although we speak the same language we have words that have very different meanings.
I hope that we have always made out American friends feel at home.
Mind you, some of the American tourists who come to London and wear very loud shirts and shout to each other are a bit off putting!
But people who live here try to fit in as best as they can and we love their accents.
At the end of the day, it is NOT what accent is used, it is the content of the words, if they are nice people they will speak good things, if they are bad people they will speak bad things.
I have only known the good ones!

I do not mock the way the British talk - so everyone in America doesn't mock the British. I think people who mock others are small-minded. I personally like English spoken in other accents besides American.

I have an American accent from going to an international school (most of my friends were American, hence the accent). When I went to university in the UK, my accent faded a bit but the British always noticed it. Some of the loved it while other used to make fun of my accent.

But I have to say I hate when Americans mock British accents, they have no idea about the different accents in the UK. The always seem to do the posh voice or the Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins chimney sweep accent, which no one really has.

Depends on the person, honestly. The people in the UK and Europe are just like the people here in America; they have likes, dislikes and a sense of humor. For every person here in the US of A who mocks the British accent there is a person in the UK mocking an American accent.

Remember, we're all human here. We're not that different from them and they aren't that different from us. We all put our pants on the same way....Well....assuming you wear pants....and haven't found an easier way than "put legs in pantlegs and pull up until secure on butt". ;-) Take care,

You have such a cheek to mock our accents, remember that we speak the Queen's English, the southern American accent is awful. I am not really aware that we mock your accents though, we , being typically British just put up with it !!!!!!!!!!!!
