I was told my son had Ewing Sarcoma in September of last year. We went through hell. I was scared to death. Finally at St. Jude's we found out via biopsy that it was a solid tumor on his right distal femur. He has an internal prosthesis which will have to be changed approx. every ten years, which means surgery for the rest of his life. He still does physical and water therapy everyday. He went from a wheelchair to a walker to crutches and is currently using a cane. He's only 18 and was only 17 when this happened. Ewing Sarcoma is a bone cancer, by the way. In the middle of dealing with all this, spending two months at Ronald McDonald house in Memphis, my husband had a massive stroke and my mom had to get a leg amputated. My favorite aunt died during this period and to cap it all off i was fired from my job of 18 years largely due to having to care for my family. It hasn't been a good year. So the worst thing that has ever happened to me? The year 2005.

Diabetes at age 10, beginnings of kidney failure at age 27, kidney's failed at 37. The kidney pancreas transplant at age 37 1/2 was one of the best things that ever happened to me. This was also the same year the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl. Life could not have been better!

I was stopped waiting for the train to go by at midnight (in a 240sx), less than a mile from my house when a drunk Mexican in a minivan rear ended me at 65 mph. The train passed and everybody just left me there; the guy took off running and I never got to see him. The police found his registration and still cold open beer bottles, but the insurance didn't pay much because they said it couldn't be proved he was drinking. WHAT?!!! HMMM... He rear ended me going 65 mph while I was at a dead stop and ran...and left evidence...Nationwide is unbelievable.

Eating glue (just a taste).
My brother was under the bed. He told my mom, and my mom frustrated with me she decided to tell my drunk father.
He was an angry drunk-unfortunately.
So he beat me with his belt. (2 inch thick belt buckle). He didn't realize that he was hitting me with the belt buckle.
My pinkie was swollen to the size of my thumb. My third grade teacher immediately took me to the nurse, they got the truth out of me-through some coaxing. She has inspired me to be the teacher I am today.
