does multi region mean the dvd player plays movies from overseas, please explain

It means you can buy DVD's from anywhere and your DVD player will still play them

Multi region means it ignores the region code on the DVD. It does not necessarily mean that the DVD will play on all players. The region code is independent of the DVD format (PAL or NTSC). In general, PAL DVD players will play NTSC discs, but most NTSC players will not play PAL discs. So in order for a disc to play, the player must accept the region or ignore it AND be capable of playing the format of the DVD.

There's like half a dozen formats. So if you got multi regional you can watch dvds that are made in different countries.

yeahit means it plays dvds from other countries such as europe. in america we use the format NTSC and in europe it is PAL. so it would play both. hope it helped.
