If you don't look fat you probably aren't. A lot of things determine your weight. Bone structure and how heavy your bones are have a lot to do with your weight. I remember when I was in high school I was 5'31/2" when I was 17. I weighed 110 lbs. A classmate of mine looked the same build as I and was about the same height give or take a 1/2 an inch. Well she weighed 143 lbs. We both asked our PE teacher how this could be. She said some people have a larger bone structure and their bones are much heavier.

Well, that all depends.... Muscle weighs more than fat, so you can weigh a lot, but still be in better shape than other people that weigh the same amount. If most of your weight is fat on the other hand, you should try to control it. It sounds like you are doing a good job of that already! I am 16 also, and when I was about 14 or 15 I weighed a lot, and I wasn't healthy. I took control of my life, and I didn't lose much weight, but I am in much better shape now. I lost fat, but gained muscle. Good luck on your quest! Just remember, nobody's body is perfect, no matter what the TV says. As long as you feel good about you, there's no need to compare yourself to others...especially your friends! They can be a big help in this point in you life.....let them!

It is good that you watch what you eat and exercise, but please do not think that anything is wrong with you. For your height your weight is just fine. Magazines, movies, and T.V. images are all a bunch of crap... and just because a friend is a little less weight than you doesnt mean that is better. Besides, it's whats on the inside that matters most... anyone who says different is a really shallow person. Have a good day!!

You are fine, trust me. When I was 16 (and I am 5'9 as well) I weigh 155. But because of my height I had a good shape. Your weight will go to your height, because you are tall. Be proud of yourself and don't try and be like everyone else. Being smaller isn't everything, and it doesn't make you happier either. If you want to lose weight, do it for you, not to fit in with the crowd. Being smaller can cause more health problems as well. SO be proud of who and what you are. Don't try and be something your not.

Yes you should lose some weight
At the age of 16, you weight should be around 110-115 pounds or 50-55kg.

You sound perfect to me. your only talking a 13 to 15 pound difference. How much taller are you though??? As long as your exercising and watching what you eat I would not worry.

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore
