Ephesians 2:8-9
You are saved by grace not by works.

We are saved by the grace of Jesus it is a free gift and we can't do anything good enough to ern it. We just have to ask Him to save us.

Once we are saved we want to do good things for our lord and fellow Christians. We want to put our faith to work. As James said faith without works is dead.

Well it's not the deeds that put you in heaven. So if you think like that and calculate everything than I can guarentee you, you won't get anywhere! Do you know how many bad people there are that do good deeds at the same time, just to hide their bad things? It's all about the treating of others. Changing your heart. Giving happily. Having a relationship with GOD! You will be pleasantly surprised at the outcome. And guess what? You won't even have to wait for heaven to see the benefits of your actions! You have to want to do for others not tick every deed off as one step closer to heaven. Sorry to disappoint you.

you don't have to do a certain amount of good deeds to get in to heaven. in fact, I personally believe that you don't have to do any! If you truely believe in God, and that Jesus is His son, and that Jesus died for your sins, and you accept Jesus as your savior, you'll get into heaven even if you die right then and there and don't have a chance to do any good deeds. But if you do become a Christian, then you should try and do what is right in the eyes of the Lord, but God won't love you any less or any more according to what you do. Not even the worst of crimes will keep you out of heaven if you truely become a Christian. God loves you and works don't get you into heaven. Jesus died on the cross so that we could get into heaven by God's grace.

That's a ridiculous question. Never have I read that good deeds in any amount will open the gates of heaven to anyone.........nor will bad deeds keep them out.......deeds are not subjective to heaven for eternity. Belief in GOD will certainly get you a consideration, don't you think, eh????? :)

We are saved by the Grace of God alone. If you think good deeds will bring you closer to God, you are sadly mistaken. Bad deeds are sins. God forgives us our sins as long as we follow him and repent for our sins.

No good works can assure you a place in Heaven because we are all sinful and have fallen short of the glory of God. In order to be able to go to Heaven after we die, we must accept Christ as our savior and as the Son of God who died on the cross for us.

Heaven or Hell is right here, fella. There is no guy with a long beard waiting to sit with you on a cloud, and there is no guy in a red suit with a pitch fork waiting for you to burn somewhere in the center of the earth .... all that stuff is a fairytale.

Saint Peter at the Golden Gate ~
A man dies and goes to heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."
"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!" "Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its
ministry with my tithe and service." "Terrific!" says St. Peter, "that's certainly worth a point." "One point? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."
"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says. "TWO POINTS!" the man cries, "At this rate, the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God!" "That's right! Now you've got it!" said St. Peter.

For it is by Grace you have been saved, through Faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) HIS Grace!

IT only takes one good work after you have received salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior.

That good work is to read the bible and do all that it says for the rest of your life on this earth.

And when you fail, and you will, ( we all do, everyday) own up to it,to yourself and to GOD and move on.

Good luck and may GOD bless you and keep you.
