I think you should wait at least a year or two after getting married just to enjoy spending time with your significant other before bringing a baby into the home and listening to all that crying. I mean, babies are great, but you should have time for just the two of you before you don't have the opportunity anymore.

My opinion is that if you have the freedom and the finances to choose, then what ever time you and your husband choose would be the best time. Too young in my opinion is under the age of twenty one because I don't think that people have looked at the time, money, and socialization, and other things (sex) to say the least. You don't just have a baby, you have to raise it, sacrifice for it, and protect it and that is not so easy to do in this world. I am the mother of three and if I had a choice I would want children but I wouldn't have any because of the sad state of affairs that has taken over this world. That is how much I love my children that I would not want them to exist and feel the hurt, unfairness, prejudice and other plagues of man.

Well, I was 24 years old when I learn I was expecting after only being married for 5 months. We were married exactly 1 year, 2months, and 3 days when our first bundle of joy arrived. I cried when I found out I was pregnant. I felt in my heart, I wasn't ready yet for that responsibility.
So, to answer your question, in my opinion, you are ready to have children when, in your heart, you can think of nothing else you would want more. There is no magic number here.

You are ready if you are married, finished college, have a stable income, health insurance, your own home and can afford to have a baby WITHOUT having to depend on government assistance or your family to help out. By the time you get all these you should be at least 25 years old. Just good ole UN-common sense if you ask me! (and you did!)

Have a baby when you and your partner are married and financially secured. You dont want your child to grow up in poverty, fatherless, or in a stressful environment (constant moving, different boyfriends etc).
