Why do so many people dislike or hate people of the Jewish faith?

People around the world haved disliked or hated people of the Jewish faith.

Jews were entrusted with the ancient scriptures. Even though they do not accept Christ as savior(except messianic) they still have held on to great wisdom. Because of this they are sometimes more successful. So others hate them. They blame the Jews for their hardships rather than accept responsibility for their own actions.

I have always wondered about this question as well. My theory is based simply on two primal emotions we all involuntarily experience. These are jealousy and fear. In todays world the jewish tribe is the only intact bloodline that can be traced back to a time before the written word. This gives them a very unique and clear distinction from everyone else who is not Jewish. Because of this uniqueness, any statistically based talents or good or bad traits noticed by an outsider becomes an equivalent summary of the entire jewish population. A single jewish individual with a gift for making money tends to sum up all jews hence the reaction of jealousy and fear manifesting itself and being applied to all jews rather than the single individual. At the same time, statistics of jewish individuals indicate significantly higher than average IQ scores compared to the average of all people. One last thing to note that is an aside is the unique aspect of their faith. Their faith is the mother of all monotheism but interestingly enough has one rather significant difference from all others. The religion is not reward based. The concept of being jewish is focused on the present and the challenge of following a code of ethics. The lack of a reward or punishment system offers a much more pure, non corruptable, and selfless guide to living. A jew has no self interest in mind as they practice their faith. What an effective concept!!! - maybe this is the simple reason why they have remained as an intact tribe of people for all of history and for some of prehistory. They are not individuals but rather an intact group held together by a faith designed to unify rather than gratify.

For a number of reasons. Religion and politics being the most prevalent. That doesn't make it right though. People shouldn't hate anyone, if I have any belief in anything that's it. I have spent some time studying the persecution of the Jews throughout history (pre WWII, most seem to think that's where it started) and my heart goes out to people of that faith and lineage. Keep your chin up, stuff works out, people can change, or at least I hope so.

Because they usually are wealthy and not very generous.
Why would an expression like "jew them down" or "don't
be a jew" be said if this behavior did not exist.

Maybe if they were little more generous they can loose this sterotype....

I am not anti semetic, just that this is my observation during the last 40yrs of the jewish people, mainly from the actions of the Israelies.

The Romans of 2000 years ago didn't specifically hate the jews any more than the hated the Gauls or Goths.

The hatred of today was founded in christian dogma starting with the early catholic church but extended through islam. Whether it's Martin Luther, Nazism, or the Taliban, the christians and muslim hatred of jews continues unabated.

However, you will find NO religion, other than christianity and islam, that specifically hates jews for being jews.

Real Christians do not hate Jews at all but love them to death! Those who don't are only Christians by self acclimation and nothing more - just wanna-bes.

I have only met a few secular people who dislike Jews and I would not put them in the majority.

Muslims? Who cares. They walk in the murderous spirit of Cain who slew his brother out of petty jealousy.

If you notice the majority that hates jewish faith are all their neighbors and muslims, but this has been for along time, all this is because each of these groups proclaim that they are the ones choose by God, and besides muslims are jealous because they are the choose by God.

It is the result of a curse. The Jewish people brought a curse upon themselves when they murdered the Creator God of the Universe. They said "His blood be upon us and our children." And they did get cursed for that request. Sad, but true.
