So many choices and variations to choose from, and they all seem to have their perks and drawbacks. I don't want to damage the intellects of my children, but we all know that in the majority of societies on the earth today, they would be much safer from abuse and prejudice if they are indoctrinated with some sort of faith.

Since you hear alot about brainwashing with the Jehovah's Witnesses, and since I am one of them, I suggest giving them a try, you just might be surprised what you can learn in a short time.

Last year 2005, we "brainwashed" as they like to say, 247,631, that became Jehovah's Witnesses and everyone of these had to change their minds pertaining to the false teachings that they had been taught, these were people that used their own Bible, King James, etc., 28,384 were from the United States.

Has your minister, priest or religious leader mentioned this wonderful hope to you? Of course they have not, most clergymen say nothing about it. In fact, many do not even believe the Bible. This is an important reason why Jehovah’s witnesses call at the homes of people of other religions.

The efforts of Jehovah’s witnesses to approach people in public and at their homes are rooted in the Word of God. Jesus himself went directly to the people, and he instructed his apostles and disciples to do likewise.

The Witnesses’ beliefs, based entirely on God’s Word, the Bible, prevent them from falling into the trap of becoming a sect or a cult. They take a kindly interest in all other people, of whatever religious persuasion. No, they do not try to force these people to change their viewpoint. They endeavor to imitate their Leader, Christ Jesus, by presenting Scriptural evidence of the trouble-free Paradise that will soon be established on earth.—Matthew 28:19, 20; 1 Peter 2:21.

During the service year, 2,340 Kingdom Halls were completed around the world. This represents an average of 195 halls per month, or just over 6 per day! Since November 1999 when the construction program in lands with limited resources began, 7,730 Kingdom Halls have been built. In many areas, once a hall is finished, meeting attendance soars and halls are soon filled to capacity.

you've made your opinion quite clear.
here is a definition I've found in an old dictionary you might be interested in reading: religion = the quest for the values of the ideal life: involving three phases: the ideal, the practices for attaining the values of the ideal, and the theology or world view relating the quest to the environing universe.
its not the normal connotation that comes to mind.......and its not too bad either. Best of luck with your search.

You shouldnt "brainwash" your children with anything. You cant force your children to have a relationship with God, especially if you dont have one with Him either. It would be awesome if you found God but if its religious principles you want to teach them right now, then I would say Christianity. Even if you dont believe in Christ, its still good principles to follow. The Bible speaks of love and has answers to questions. It has the 10 commandments and godly advice about everything in life. It teaches people to live above worldly standards. I hope that you find a relationship with God and find the Bible to be a good guide in life. God bless you and your children.

A safe bet is those ones called "Christians" (nonspecified). I was raised Catholic but am now atheist. This chick I knew was raised Catholic and converted (that's rare anyway) to being a "christian" after she was going door to door selling something and god came into her life on her bicycle. That is, she was on the bicycle when god came; I don't think god joined her on her bicycle...anyway, she's doing great now preaching the word... at least the last email I deleted said that.

you've got a serious problem dude

what gave you the idea that people with religion are brainwashed?

religion is something that is chosen by a person for their own spirituality

and if you ever considered "brainwashing" your children, I suggest giving them away

it's better for them to grow up with other people than with a parent who's narrowminded
