In the final analysis, i think its all in the mind. If you were Muslim you would expect your kids to follow your example and that they'll know no better anyway. Religious freedom and tolerance comes from a really good heart full of accomodation, understanding and tolerance. And that my dear is really hard to find. Its human nature that parents must know it all, all the time-thats their view in such matters. Same for your pastor and ditto your lecturer and employer. Its a seniority complex.

A lot of people do follow what their hearts tell them. I was born into a Christian family, but for a while I believed in Wicca. Now I'm back to being Christian and I'm certain that I will be for the rest of my life, but that's my choice because I believe in Christianity, not because my family is Christian. Not everyone believes in having wars in "God's name". I'm sure God doesn't appreciate us killing people and then saying, "Well, there you go, God, I killed him for you." He can, no doubt, handle that himself. No one can help what their ancestors did in the Crusades where everyone was fighting over the Holy Land, or anything like that. Even now, some religions are a bit hateful towards others or want to exclude certain people from their religion, but we have no control over what other people do. Anyway, I think most people believe what they want to anyway, despite what their family says about it.

Actually Christianity is a barbarian religion. They began as outcasts, rebelling against Caesar and Caesars wicked ways. Read the old testament and see how God commanded his followers to go to different lands and kill every man, woman, and firstborn child. Read of the sacrifices made to God and some of his sacrificial requests. But we have come a long way and became more peaceful, but christianity is still the barbarian way.

In short, yes. But beyond blind it makes Humanity - inhuman. What I mean by this is faith promotes abstract ideals over rational thought. Rational thought, often dismissed as "intellectualism," is the natural state of being. By thinking rationally we can do things like expect and function in gravity (i.e. stand upright), provide food and shelter based on predictions of need in the future, and understand that jumping off a cliff will cause us to die. Seems like obvious stuff but that's because we take for granted just how good we are at operating rationally. By "living by faith" we abandon all that is functional and as a result we get things like war, murder, hatred, and poor stewardship of resources (i.e. global warming).

There is alway conflict in everything. That is part of human nature. For being blinded in faith ,of course there is no such thing. It is your responsibility though to see what is right and what is wrong. God is Great1 He knows who does right and who does wrong. Have a strong faith is the way to get rid of feeling blinded. It is your faith that will save you,not your religion.

Search for our own gods? My God has been here forever and im not going abondon Him because He has been forever. My parents didnt make me a Christian, I have my own relationship with God. I also am not going to start a bunch of wars because of religion. My faith does have peace and love which means im not the one thats going to start religious wars, if one is being started.

Most people are not blinded by faith. Those who are blinded by faith are not reading their Bible correctly. I am a Christan. I think people only read the Bible believing what they want to believe to make it right for themselves. Religion don't make peace, people do. If you live right according to God's word, not your family. you will be just fine. Stop listening to others and read your own Bible listen to His word and you would have completed your research.

I would agree. I think you can't come to an actual realization of God, or supreme being, or whatever you want to call it, unless you question it all. Plus, any person, book, or organization, that says you should never under any circumstances question what they say, in my mind is very suspect. Either they are afraid that they are wrong, or they know that they are wrong, and using fear to control you.

Blind faith is bad. You must have faith in something that is proven. God has proven Himself thousands of times through the prophecies of the Bible. Check out some of it for yourself - http://www.ssnet.org/qrtrly/eng/06c/less03.html

Keep seeking God with all your heart and you will surely find Him.
