Depends on what kind of driving you shall be doing. The Wrangler was designed to be an off road vehicle, for this it is great. However, if the majority of your driving is around town, and on the highway, I suggest you rethink your options. The Wrangler has a high center of gravity and a short wheelbase, which is all good for off-road driving, but makes unstable at highway speeds.. The earlier CJ's were famous for instant rollovers in a turn...The jeep is lots of fun off-road, can go anywhere..as long as you go slow, and don't do stupid!! (Stupid Hurts!)

only flaw with a Wrangler Jeep would be the doors do not have a side impact rating. But the roll over factor everyone has been talking about is Bogus. get one stock and it will not be prone to roll over any more than another vehicle. I Test Drive for a Living any vehicle can roll just as easy as the next. At least in a Wramgler you have Roll bars. I like my Rubicon. It can go anywhere. Less chance of getting damage from curbing it too.

I own a wrangler unlimited rubicon and its wonderful in the country and for driving up washouts. I took my back seat out and my hard top off because they are just additional weights I don't need. When i am not driving it, its parked in a garage. There is no tonoue cover for the back area so you have to build your own but its worth it to stop the wind from sweeping back inside. Also, because there is no play in the steering wheel, when you turn just a little bit, you go that way. For the price, if I were young I wouldn't get a new Jeep Wrangler, its too specialized. I would get an older model first to see if I liked the way it handles first. And don't let anybody else drive it!

I own a 2007 4 door, and that i love it. for sure i love a rougher driving vehicle, and imagine 20 mpg is reliable for driving a brick at restricted-access highway speeds. If gas mileage is a issue then this gained't be the vehicle for you. Older wranglers rode a lot rougher than the 2007, and the 4 door is actual not undesirable (by using my criteria for sure), yet will a 16 365 days previous woman choose a harsh experience? likely not. so a techniques as protection the 2007 is 5 well known human being crash rated, and it comes customary with ABS, traction administration, and digital roll mitigation. i imagine she needs the seem, and likes the idea of the wrangler, yet once she has tocontinual it commonly used she will develop into bored except she likes off-highway driving (my spouse likes driving mine for about 0.5-hour then she needs out). i'm fairly pleased with my wrangler, I actually have not had any issues of it so a techniques and that i comprehend the older fashions are very solid, and anticipate the hot era to carry on with this

No, it is not. As stated before, the CG is too high. The Wrangler also has some squirrelly handling characteristics to trip the unwary or inexperienced, and the fact that it's an "off-road vehicle" might tempt the novice to do dangerous things they'd never try in a sedan.
Get your novice a Toyota Corolla, with an automatic.

Lot's of people that are not very interested in doing stuff outdoors like camping and trailriding get tired of Wranglers pretty easily. They look very basic due to the way they are built to stand up to the elements... but they hold value very well. They are no flaws in them and they are actully pretty sturdy. You can't name very many other vehicles that come with a roll bar standard. The drivetrain is also tried and true.

ya i would get it for my kid they are great all you have to do is maintain it and it goes for ever. i got my 03 rubicon when i was 16 and i havent flipped it and i drive crazy. the whole rollin over thing is if you take a 25mph turn at like 60 and in that case any suv is going to roll over or get all out of whack. all in all a jeep is the best car ever and i would go for it.

Jeeps are more prone to flipping over in the event of a sharp turn. I would recommend a compact car of some sort.

They are pretty bad vehicles. They are terrible on gas mileage. I think any SUV for a teen is a bad idea because their overpriced and are costly to repair. Stick with a car like a Toyota Solara or something.

Get the Grand Cherokee Laredo. Have a 97'. Awesome off road and on road. I have taken sharp corners pretty fast with little lean and good handling.
