Wow you really got some wild answers.....
I cant tell you what other people will do.
I will tell you what I do, and what paperwork goes to the new owners that get a puppy from me.
First I will give you the name and email address of other people who have gotten a dog from me and suggest you talk to them. I will offer you the number to my vets office so you can check with him if you need to.
I. The puppy will get his registrations papers, they will tell you the day he was born, and the name of his mom and dad, (just like your birth certificate)
2. I will give you a record of all the shots he has had and the dates he got the shot.
It also tells you the days I wormed him, how much wormer I used and the name of the wormer.
3. I will give you a written health guarantee that will tell you what diseases I guarantee against and what diseases I do not cover, and the length of time my guarantee is good for.
4. I will give you a written sheet covering things you will need to watch for and what you will need to do if the puppy gets sick.
5. He will have a sample of the dog food I feed him, I will explain how to switch his food to something else if you so desire.
6. I will make sure you have my phone number and stress the importance of calling me (at any time) if you think the puppy isn't acting right.
These are the minimum items that should come with a dog, IF THEY ARE A REPUTABLE BREEDER

I would really as the Veterinarian's office to be sure. They will know the details. Plus maybe check out local adoption agencies and depending on if it is a private business --maybe even the better business bureau. I think the vet will be a good enough source for the information you want.

Hi there,
You should receive a certificate of Pedigree for your breeded dog, which of course will show their family lines of where they came from!

All those "papers" mean nothing!! All it requires is someone to mail in a check to AKC or such. We used to laugh at people that brought their "papers" to the Vet appointments. They mean NOTHING!!!!
