i have win xp pro with 1gb or ram 80 gb hard drive
i've disabled many startup items and services and the pc is still sluggish and very slow.....i don't have any hardware problems, and don't have spyware neither viruses (not connected to internet)
is there anything that can be done to improve windows performance?

Install Autopatcher software and run the EXE file from desktop u can see some modules.there u enable the speed button.
Iam 100% sure it will increase ur system speed because iam using this software for 1 year.It contains all updates for windows Xp.It is also microsoft certified software.

to the guy who posted above. Your a MORON. well check your page file size and all the processes that are currently running and make sure they are minimal that is all i can suggest. If you really wanna do some major tweaking i'd suggest changing your FSB in the bios options
