Of course it's bad for your teeth, but I still do it anyway. I just let the ice soften up a little bit so it's only half bad.
Be careful though you don't wanna chip a tooth.

Goodness there are some strange answers. First off it doesn't make the tooth more fragile because of the temperature. Umm don't you eat ice cream or frozen drinks? Goodness.
Chewing ice can chip out sealants placed because they are not as strong as fillings. If you were to really crunch down hard I guess you could chip a tooth. Or you could cut your gums.
I don't ever advocate chewing on ice, but the habit itself isn't going to hurt your teeth, unless you are doing it a lot. I would still recommend that you just suck on the ice and maybe chew the last slivers of it.

Small pieces of ice won't hurt your teeth, plus it's a good way to get more fluids.

To confetticupcakes: What kind of ice do you chew that has sugar in it?

rapid tempreture changes damage the enamel and the tensile strengh on the teeth, since your teeth are naturally at around 30 degrees centigrade by eating ice you ar rapidly reducing the of the teeth and thery by weakining the teeths structure, so it is advicable not to eat ice and there is a chance that you will catch a cold
