When dying your hair a lighter color starting from black it goes through orange and red.You have to bleach it and then tone it.A profesional has this expierence .7 foils is offered at the salons and is safer and less expensive then dying it all over. Make sure you tell the stylist what name brand you used to make sure it will work with there brand.Follow up with strengthening shampoo and conditioners.

If your hair is dyed black then NO other hair dye will color over that black hair. Your roots will turn light but the black will remain black. The only way to get rid of that black hair is to bleach it, strip it or wait until all your natural hair color grows out and you cut all the black off. If you bleach or strip your hair then it will turn red. You should go to a professional because if you bleach your hair and you do not know what you are doing then your hair will turn red, brown, blonde and orange in different areas of your hair and the color will not be even.

well you had somewhat of the right idea...only black is the most difficult hair color to remove(funny huh?) its true, if you do try to use a box dye that is lighter than black then only your regrowth which is virgin hair will turn out. To remove black you need to use bleach to lift the dye. if your wanting a blond color dont expect to go platinum...usually darker based hair (i.e...browns) arent meant to be a bleach-blond! You should be able to lift enough of the color to achieve reds/carmels...also be sure not to undergo several bleach applications to remove the black! Bleach is very damaging and it could end up splotchy...MY ADVICE -DEFINETLY GO TO A SALON, its alot to do on your own...goodluck

I think you should allow your hair to grow until it gets to right underneath your shoulders, then layer it in the front. Then you have to dye your hair red( you look REALLY good in red) and then dye the ends of your hairs a dark purple color. It looked really good on my friend!

well if your gonna dye it blonde then use a regular dye that you can get at any beauty store, like the clairol dye or whatever.

If you want to die it a bright red, I dont know any GOOD dyes but dont use the brand manic panic. I used that to die my hair read and it ruined my hair.
