The only way to lose fat is cardio. Ther is no such thing as "spot losing" fat in any one part of your body. You can strengthen the muscles underneath the fat but this does not make the fat dissapear. Everyone has abs, you just need to lose the fat over them. When working your abs, make sure you work all sections of your abs (upper, lower, obliques, transverse and back). Do squats and leg presses for your legs but remember: only cardio will contribute to fat loss. You should only work your muscles every other day to give a day for the muscles to recuperate and grow. Doing weights everyday is bad for your muscles and you won't see results as fast, believe it or not.

Belinda, Two comments here really make me mad. Moving on...I also have extensive scar tissue in my stomach. I have had 3 surgeries to save my life on my stomach and then gangrene that had to be cut out. Which meant more scar tissue. Obviously the comment down below is ridiculous to even think about lipo. Like you I wanted to lose the fat also. So I am now into 5 months of a clean diet (if you're not sure what that is just google that and very helpful sites will come up), LOTS of weights and high intensity interval training (HIIT). I do not do steady cardio as I want to keep my muscles. I can tell you that the change has been drastic! In addition, because almost all of the fat (and I don't mean weight or that my stomach has just gone down) I do believe my scar tissue has also gone down. It's not gone, but maybe scar tissue is bunched up with the fat and if the fat goes down so does the scar tissue? Not sure but I never thought I could get my stomach like this and that's what it seems happened. Follow these three things and you will realize genetics doesn't play as much a role as some would think. You can truly transform your body. Now, I don't do too many stomach crunches as my doctor told me not too but with the sprinting I do have definition. So not sure about that. GOOD LUCK!

Just like others mentioned, cardio is the only way to really "spot" treat an area. However, studies have shown that cardio with weight lifting removes the most fat, the quickest. I have the same trouble areas as you mentioned, and I always focus on doing 3 cardio and arms days (30+ mins of good cardio), and 3 heavy weights on my legs and lower stomach days. The best help ever was when I got in touch with a good trainer at a gym and had a one-time session on what I should do on my own to work those areas. Now, I know what weight-bearing exercises to do (and in which order...it does matter!), and only had to pay the cost once. Good luck and congrats!

you have not mentioned your height. however 135 pounds seems to be on the higher side for a 13 year old. the best exercise you can start with is walking and running in the mornings and evenings. this will tone up your muscles and burn excess fat. there will be experts answering about specific exercises for belly fat and thigh fat. if you are depending only on walking and running be prepared to continue this for two months to show results. but results will be longer lasting. start with walking a comfortable distance at first and incresae it to around 5 kilometers gradually out of which one kilometer should be running . good luck.. life is a long journey ,enjoy the walk.

Crunches > Sit-Ups
Also do squat jumps. I would suggest doing 2 or 3 sets of 20 repetions each. Obviously, as you get stronger, do more.
You should do the crunches every day and the jumps every other day.
Walking is good too. Walk at a fast pace though. Running's no fun, so don't bother.

walk, run, swim, cycle anything that makes you move. At your age you have the advantage of a fast metabolism.
There is no such thing as spot training. You can do crunches 'till you pass out, it won't burn any of the belly fat.
Move, move, move, combined with a healthy diet will get you where you want to be. Do it now!! It only gets harder as you get older.

When boredom, depression, or even stress causes cravings, find a nonfood way in order to meet them such as taking a walk, calling a friend, getting a bath, reading a book, or maybe doing some yoga.
