Do any preachers, or priests, or rabbis, or reverends use the internet? I've never ran accross any on this site or any other forum. Is it against thier vows? Do they not have the time? What is it?

My husband does. He loves Yahoo Fantasy Football and Baseball. He also does a lot of research for his sermons off of the net. Look in the sports section of Answers, I bet you'll find him.

I had to laugh when I saw this question.

In the VERY early 80's preachers preached against computers because... and I'm not sure why, but they believed that they were somehow connected to the anti-christ and the "beast."

I remember being taught that computers were of the devil and would somehow lead christians away from christ.

That is one of the many things that turned me away from the christian faith. Silliness like that is not worth the breath used to pronounce them.

Preachers will preach against anything new. They always fear anything that will keep their parishioners away from their churches and take money away from their collection plates.

Doesn't anybody remember when television was evil? Radio was evil? Then it was cable TV... and so on, and so on and so on... I'm sure at some point even newspapers were evil. Then preachers found a way to change god's mind about all these things and we were free to enjoy them without fear of hell.

Yes, you can find websites and blogs of priests all over the place. Some religious orders live a more simple life and therefore do not use computers or other luxury items. Others limit the time to allow for a prayerful life.

I just spotted a priest in the law and justice forum here. He looks legit. Also, there are all kinds of churches and ministries on the web.

I've watched many web-cast teachings and sermons online.

Even the 700 Club is in here. You can watch the show online, Mother Angelica has Pod-casts.........

I think that some might use the net. I doubt they would use Yahoo Answers but the internet is a great tool for finding references in the bible easier, looking at different biblical translations and learning the ways that people comprehend different verses and scriptures.

They do. I do computer work for some churches and the preachers are always asking me questions. They do a lot of research. I get to preach to the preacher and I use the net a lot. I am answering your questions, aren't I? :)

Yes actually they use it quite often as most churches have web sites, and most pastors frequent the synod websites for information as well as many other uses.

Yes. That's how they locate children to rape after they have been defrocked for similar crimes.
