I live on the west side of Indianapolis. It is a great place to raise a family. Pick a school system on the north or west side. They are all pretty good. We go to Avon schools...they are great. I would not mess with any of the smaller cities in the state. Indy has a lot to do, is clean, cheap, safe, and has a great job market. I don't know about the senior issue. I've lived in 7 different towns across Indiana, and Indy is by far the best. Fort Wayne and South Bend are pretty rough. Lafayette is a nice town, but not a lot to do. Evansville is nice too, but it is cut off from the rest of the world. Good luck with your decision!
