If the restaurant is "authentic" in the USA go for it! If the restaurant is south of the border you'd be better off drinking Coke or beer... unless uncontrollable gastric distress is your thing.
PS: never drink the water in Mexico... ever!

yeah, I drank water from an authentic mexican restaurant and I was fine. The mexican resteraunt was in America!!

Not if it's in Mexico. Drink bottled beverages, and watch out for ice made from that water.

eating position faucet water in the U. S. should be really secure. faucet water in mexico is likewise secure yet in ordinary words in the better cities, you may continually ask your waiter if faucet water is secure to drink.
