Dear:Cindy If you were close to her, yes,she would look out for
you.I SUGGEST, READ THE HOLY BIBLE,KJV.Joh:14:16: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh:14:17: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh:14:18: I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh:14:19: Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Joh:14:20: At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh:14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

There is an awareness for Christians in heaven and the lost in hell. The Bible addresses this issue in several different places. In one story it talk about a man in the fires of hell wanting to go and warn his brothers so they would repent and be saved. God tells him that there is a great gulf between the living and the dead and it cannot be crossed. There are many other stories that are told in the Bible for us to read and understand the state of the people who have gone on before us in death. I suggest you take some time to read the Bible stories. The Bible has many other answers to lifes question. After all the B-i-b-l-e stands for B-basic, I-instructions, B-before, L-leaving, E-earth. Your Mother is very much aware of you here on earth. As is all of heaven looking down on you. I pray that what she sees will please her and God our Father.
Another thing I would like to share with you is that our time and eternitys time is different. We mark events with the moving of the sun. Eternity has no sun, for the light will come from our God. There we will not need day and night to mark time. Because eternity has no end. Your mother will just be getting settled in (and hopefull if she was a Christian) laying her crown of glory at Jesus's feet for Him giving His life so she could live. Hope you are prepared to meet her there.
I know you feel sad and miss her. My mother has also gone on ahead of me. I don't grieve her state. I grieve my missing her. But since I know she trusted Jesus to save her from her sins and she made a public statement of faith with her being baptized, I know she is in heaven waiting for the glorious day when all of Gods children come home. Are you ready to go?

How could they be happy in heaven if they were aware of the things going on with their family members on the earth? They have a spiritual body and are around the throne with Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4: 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1 Thessalonians 4: 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4: 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1 Thessalonians 4: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We shall know as we are known but in the presense of the LORD is fullness of joy!
Jesus told of a rich man who died and went to hell. He had the awareness that the poor begger who also died and had sat at his door daily was in the bosom of Abraham(Heaven) and asked for him to touch his tongue with a drop of water. It was impossible because of the great chasm in between. Then he begged GOD to send someone back from the dead to warn his family to not end up where he was. That too was not granted because it was stated they would not believe even if one came back from the dead.
Yes there is awareness of those left behind.

My mother passed 14 years ago and I still miss her terribly, so I can understand your pain. It will suddenly hit out of the blue that I want to talk to her so bad that it hurts.
In Hebrews 12:1, it says, "Wherefore seeing we are also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses...." The Bible doesn't tell us exactly who those witnesses are, but I've heard preachers say that it could be the loved one who have gone before us.

The Bible teaches that they love us more deeply than they ever did, that they pray for us, constantly (Rev 5:8), and that their prayers are powerfull (Jas 5:16). Paul urged prayers and intercessions in 1 Tim 2:1-4), and we are all the Body of Christ, the communion of saints, whether here or in Heaven.
Ask your mother to pray for you. The Bible tells us her intercession is more powerful than asking your living friends and neighbors to pray for you.

No, the dead have fallen asleep until Christ calls us all home together. Please do not try to comunicate with her or you might find yourself decieved by a spirit.
John 11:11
After he had said this, he went on to tell them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up."
1 Thessalonians 4:15
According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
Sorry for your loss. I will pray that God will bring you comfort.

The Bible says that we will be known as we are known. There probably is not marriage in heaven, but I believe that we will know our family. God will not let those in heaven see anything here on earth that will make them sad, There will be no tears in heaven.

Read the bible. People who have died do not go straight to heaven. They are asleep in their grave. They know nothing until Jesus comes back to get them. It would be so easy if you read about this in the bible, and not ask erring humans to answer.
