The last time I checked, God has not revealed himself as the creator of the universe. God seems to only exist in a person's beliefs and in their faith. Which is exactly what "faith" is. A belief in a God when there is no physical or actual proof.

Carl Sagan said this on his show 'Cosmos'...

“Our ancestors looked at the intricacy and beauty of life and saw evidence for a great designer. The simplest organism is a far more complex machine than the finest pocket watch. And yet pocket watches don’t spontaneously self assemble or evolve in slow stages on their own from say, grandfather clocks. A watch implies a watchmaker. There seemed to be no way, in which atoms spontaneously fall together and create say, a dandelion. The idea of a designer is an appealing and all together human explanation of the biological world. But as Darwin and Wallace showed, there is another way. Equally human and far more compelling.”

If you say the Bible says God's exist then I have to ask, who wrote the Bible? Did it just float down from Heaven on a cloud or did human beings, write it. If that is the case then every word in the bible is human. Then it is logical to assume that the bible is then capable of being wrong. Written in a time when there was no science and no awareness. What is wrong with wanting to know the truth. Would you rather believe in a hard truth or a reasurring fable?

The more of the Universe I see, as revealed to me from Science. I don't see a God, I see something much more. A beginning to finding our place in the Cosmos. Given enough time, matter evolves into conscieness. That is nature, that is how is work everywhere in the Universe. That doesn't show the work of a creator though. We are placing a creator on top. If there is no beginning to the Universe and no ending, then how is there even be a creator. Since there is no beginning. There is no need. I feel so much more humble that we are here. We were lucky.

But I do understand that if you have a belief in God, then you are going to heaven to live in forever. I understand that can be a comforting belief. But again, we have no proof of anything after we die. The only proof we have right now, is the proof of our existance right now. As I am writing this and everyone is reading this. This is happening, life. And no I am not trying to tick anyone off. I ask the questions that people of faith are offended of asking. Science is the search for the truth, first and foremost. What is so scary about that?

How can you not believe in God?
His likeness is everywhere, ready for you to receive him and his son.
You cannot deny that there once lived a man who was in reality more than a human, Jesus. And if you read his works that his father revealed to him, you will notice that there is not one person who has or had or will ever have as much wisdom as he had.
The Bible talks about Moses, whom God loved very much. The things that happened to the captives of his people are also true.
There is nothing that can force all of nature to do whatever it wants besides God. Yes, some of the things seen can be vaguely described by science. However, there is no force that can manipulate the other forces around it at the same time and force it to do what it wants except for God.

I have many friends that also believe the same way that you do, but I have never told them this.
I hope this helps you make the right decision.
---Edit---
Don't get us wrong, we are not offended by you asking why. The Bible was written by people who were filled with the Holy Spirit, so in an indirect manner God did write the Bible. The people who wrote it were influenced to by God, so that Gods word may be known- or that is just my belief. You can't say that there is no beginning and end in this world, because you no not.
Many scientists through generations and generations have worked together to try and figure out everything that God hid from us. Most of these scientists come up with crazy and inconsistent that fail to answer many questions.

If you read the Bible and stop trying disprove everything in it, you will understand so much more. Many scientists think they are the smartest people in the world, as do many people who believe their own way do. However, they sure do look really nieve when people with more wisdom look at them!
The proof lives in the faith.

Sunsets, a newborn's first smile, daisies....geeze.... even toilet paper is proof. All these beautiful things in the world. Do you need a scientist to tell you they're beautiful to know that they are?

You don't. Which, in fact, is why I'm wondering why you need to have proof to know that God is our awesome creator.

In the two millennia of the Christian faith somewhere around 75 million people have given their LIVES for the truth. Could you give your life for something you didn't know is the truth? Thousands upon thousands upon thousands of Christians are locked in prision cells at this very moment, wasting away, but some how having the strength to stay alive for another day when they could have walked away from God and walked away from prison and torture at the same time, and they didn't.. And you are.. asking what the proof of God's existance is?

Genisis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." It's the first line of his revelation to the people. Why did you ask if you didn't even look at the first page?

Hebrews 11:2 "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Proof is a funny word. It is often used when in fact all you have is an interpretation of evidence which may support your views. There is no 'proof' that God exists but the evidence indicates that he does. There is no proof that he does not exist, and supporting that claim is alot harder without resulting to juvenile insults.

I don't know anything about wallace, but Darwinian evolution is the most disproven theory that is still taught. Carl Sagan was quite right in what he said (It actually sounds like a quote from a book entitle The Blind Watchmaker, which may or may not be written by him.)

Darin proposed two methods of the advancement of species, mutation and "evolution through effort". Neither of these is credible, and the whole point is moot if you consider abiogenisis, of the violation of the first law of biology.

As for mutation. There are two documented forms of mutation, copy and paste errors, where information is put in the wrong place, and destruction of parts of the genetic code. The first places a useless chunk of DNA in a place where it should not go. This can have two effects: a) a useless vestigial structure is created, or b) it destroys another section of DNA causing more errors in the genetic structure. Either way, this change inhibits the life-form and does not construct new information. When part of the genetic structure is destroyed, by random cosmic rays, radiation or whatever, it can cause similar effects. The problem is, for new information ust be added to the genetic code in order to create useful appendages and functions. Unfortuneately these methods only cause destruction of information and repition of old information. You might come back at me with examples of beneficial mutations such as bacterial resistance or the russian superboy. In both cases this is cased by the destruction of inhibitors that regulate the funtions within the organism. In the case of the superboy, an injibitor that is present in most people to prevent them from building too much muscle was not present. In the case of bacteria, regulators controlling growth and reproduction. This resulted in faulty offspring that have trouble reproducing, but as a side effect are also unable to absorb the chemicals and drugs that normally would kill them.

Next is growth through effort. This was darwins proposed method of the creation of long necked giraffes, that they stretched their necks to reach the tops of trees and their children inherited it. I am sorry to inform you but just because you are in pristine physical condition, does not stop your kid from getting fat by over-indulging at mcdonalds. A scientist cut off the tails of mice for 20 generations, guess what, the new babies still had tails. This method of evolution is thouroughly debunked.

Now none of this is even an issue if you cannot get past the problem of abiogenisis. All life comes from life. There is no ifs ands or buts about it. Sure scientists with million dollar laboratories can produce the building blocks of life, but then it's not exactly occuring on its own, is it. Without life there is no other life. There is no method nor theory that even give a plausible method for life to arise from lifeless chemicals without the intervention of life or intelligence. Put a frog in a blender, and you get a blended frog, not a new organism.

You ask where the bible comes from. Most of it comes from human hands through the inspiration of God, but at least a portion of the mosaic scriptures, as documented in exodus, was written by Gods own hand. You may not believe that it can be the inspired word of god, but prophecies from scripture were fulfilled. If you want a list, google it. You may point to one of these 1001 errors in the bible sites, and in response I will point you to tektonics.org which refutes every claim. The Bible, in its original form, is the inerrant word of God. Personally, I would rather belive the hard truth as presented by a witness to the events (a.k.a God), than fables presented by those who refuse to listen to the truth.

You claim no beginning and no end, but only one thing is timeless and that is God. the expansion of the universe proves that there was a beginning, and the one who began it was the Lord. With God, all things are possible. Without God, nothing is.

so, Carl Sagan is the authority on the mysteries of life and the universe? has it ever occurred to you that a Creator could easily create living creatures at every stage of what we call 'evolution' and then do away with them, replacing them with the 'next stage'-OR, for that matter why could a Creator not simply set the evolutionary process in motion? for myself, I don't know the answers to a lot of questions, but i keep looking...and i believe that one day, after this life is over, i will get the answers i seek-from a loving God...i don't NEED 'proof' that God exists...i simply know He does...

I have a better definition of faith for your narrow mind to contemplate. Faith is where the evidence of reason and logic lead you when excersized outside of the box of spiritual intolerance.
To quote Darwin: if future discoveries in microbiology discover the existence of irreducible complex systems that could not have come about through gradual processes my theory of natural selection fails.
Such systems have been discovered by the thousands. American academia does not want you to know because it points to intelligent design.

I believe with all my heart, mind, and strength that Jesus is Lord and that He did die for me.
The Bible is not fairy tales:

The following is taken from The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell:
"1B.Cornelius Tacitus
According to Habermas, "Cornelius Tacitus (c. A.D. 55-120) was a Romans historian who lived through the reigns of over a half dozen Roman evperors. He has been called the 'greatest historian' of ancient Rome, an individual generally acknowledged amoung scholars for his moral 'integrity and essential goodness.'" (Habermas, VHCELJ, 87) Tacitus's most acclaimed works are the Annals and the Histories. "The Annals cover the period from Augustus's death in A.D. 14 to that of Nero in A.D. 68, while the Histories of Domitian in A.D. 96." (Habermas, VHCELJ, 87)
Writing of the reign of Nerom, Tacitus alludes to the death of Christ and to the existence of Christians at Rome. His misspelling of Christ-"Christus"- was a common error made by pagan writers. Says Tacitus:
But not all the relief that could come from man, not all the bounties that the prince could bestow, nor all the atonements which could be presented to the gods, availed to relieve Nero from the infamy of being believed to have ordered the conflagration, the fire of Rome. Hence to suppress the rumor, he falsely charged with the guilt, and punished with the most exquisite tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated from their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time, broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also. (Annals XV, 44)"

"No serious scholar has ventured to postulate the non-historicity of Jesus." -Otto Betz

There is none, and the fundamentalists biggest excuse is that there cant be, because faith is believing without evidence,

natural chaos breeds far more intricacy than any designer could create, and the probability of it happening is 99.9999%, simply because of the amount of time the universe has been around, and the incredibly chaotic nature, and immense size of it.

(2) Therefore the Bible is true.
(3) The Bible says God exists.
(4) Therefore, God exist.

AAAh...your mistaken if you think Darwin presented other alternatives...it's really just a ''theorie'' , one that is more then 150years old...way outdated and ridiculius too! Fact: today's bio-genetic sciences have indirectly proven that there is a creator of life...the codes that make up life are very similar to software but way too complex for our minds to comprehend fully...the debate should be :does the creator interacs with is creations....or not....

you're puzzling a own evidence with clinical evidence. technological expertise by using definition deals with the actual universe. by using actual we propose those issues which will be measured. What ever can't be measured indirectly falls outside the element of technological expertise. those web content are non secular interpretations of a few clinical evidence. they don't symbolize evidence in technological expertise because technological expertise operates in a diverse trend. In technological expertise you're making a hypothesis and then attempt to falsify it. those that would not be falsified are probably to be authentic, so are commonly used. those web content (I have seen all of them) do not artwork this way in any respect. they start up and end by using attempting to teach god exists. additionally they ignore about all evidence opposite to their beliefs. do not mind-set on a daily basis existence strictly as a scientists and do not attempt to study about the actual universe at church. Use the equipment given to you (this time technological expertise and faith) as they were meant truly of attempting to brush along with your paint brush and paint along with your broom! BTW certain i'm a christian. there are a mode of church homes which now settle for evolution. Even the Pope accepts it. i'm protect in my faith. Are you protect with yours?
