I am going to have to agree with answers # 1 and 3 I believe that is what they were.
Your partner was using you as a test for himself. He may be experiencing some identity challenges that he cannot quite understand. He probably was thinking of another male as you were having sex and figured that this is his lot in life. Wow... I was just thinking that I may be on the wrong track all together here.
Usually when thoughts and gut instinct hit like this something is up. It may be possible that he just wanted to do you and was looking for a way out afterwards as he cannot commit to a relationship. He may be lying to you and not wanting to explain the truth about breaking up.
Unfortunately I cannot answer this as I would have like without knowing more information regarding circumstances.

People don't turn gay. I believe they are born that way and sometimes it takes an experience with the opposite sex person to make them certain about their sexuality. Don't take it personally.

Maybe he didn't realize that he was gay until after he got sexual with a girl because he probably wasn't sure of it until after he had some experience.
