contact an attorney. Contact the jail itself. The person should already have an attorney and be somewhere in the system.

Call the jail. Don't "ball" like a baby, as someone suggested. Be calm & courteous, and have a list of questions before you call. Good questions to ask: What are this person's charges? Is there a bond amount? And if so, is the bond cash only, or is it a surety bond? (Surety, you can use a bondsman; cash only is just what is sounds like.) When is this person's court date? However, some agencies will not release information over the phone about arrestees, so you may have to wait for this person to call you. And please, don't ask the jail to leave a phone message for the person. It's a jail, not an answering service. Hope this helps.
