Lets say a fundie is driving down the road towards his or her church since it is Sunday. While driving, he or she spots a car broken down on the side of the road and the driver, an old lady, helpless to do anything about it. Would the fundie ignore the situation and attend church that day, or would the fundie stop and try to help the old lady and be sent to hell for not going to church that day?

Most of the fundies I know would continue on their way, saying a short prayer for the help of the old lady who is stranded, leaving the responsibility for her help up to "god."

Then try to find a way to blame the entire situation on homosexuals and liberals.

I am a fundamentalist, depending on your definition, I guess.

I agree that those in immediate need should be helped first. Forsaking the assembly is about not wanting to be there and failing to encourage fellow Christians. It's not about trying to see who can get perfect attendance.

While I've never been in this particular scenario, I've left services with an elderly lady who was ill. I took her home and got her settled. I've left the auditorium to sit with someone who was upset or hurting.

Serving God and serving others go hand in hand.

Any decent human being would stop and help... for those of the Christian Faith it is not manditory to attend church in any given building on sunday... The Christian would be concidered gong to church while helping the old lady... Those of the christian faith should be keeping God's sabbath from sundown Fri. to sundown Sat.... that is God's commandment... But even Those of the Faith dont get it all right.

If he knows his Bible well, he would do what is says in James 1:27: "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." It's obvious that religion, or more than religion; a relationship with God, is not a matter of going to church every Sunday. You can go to church your whole life and never even be Christian.
True religion is to remember those in need, so if he knows his Bible, he would stop and help her out, even if he missed a service.

They would help the person, u dont go to hell for missing church. By helping the lady u r praising God bcause u show her love and i am apostolic which is like fundementalist. If anyone left her their they would not get good marks with God because that isnt right.

The Bible condemns "forsaking the assembling of ourselves together" (Hebrews 10:25). However, helping somebody in need isn't forsaking the assembly. A Christian would help the old lady.

What would an atheist do? Whatever he felt like, since he has no standard for his actions other than his feelings.

I assume you are referring to a Christian. Just to humor you, of course we would stop and help her you silly person. God doesn't send someone to Hell for not going to church. Man, you atheists are ignorant.
