my dad is feeding my dog some and he says prove that its bad.

I've heard nothing of popcorn, but the butter may clog its arteries over time... also, any thing that is not normal for dogs to consume may aid in the formation of plaque on their teeth and overtime will deteriorate their oral & overall health. Your father should brush the dogs teeth on a regular basis if he insists upon "table feeding" the dog... and doing so, will shorten the dog's life.
You should never allow a dog to consume macadamia nuts, chocolate, or raisens...PARTICULARLY RAISENS! There may be other things too so I'd definately check out Google to find articles that pertain to dog dietary restictions.

The oil and fat in butter isn't good for dogs or people. My dogs love to have popcorn with butter but they don't get it. My vet's office has dry popcorn that can be given to dogs while they wait for their turn to see the vet.

sure it is.... On any ingrediants for dog food do you read buttered popcorn? Dry popcorn is fine. Its the butter that bad for dogs.

A little is OK but dogs should not have much fat from human food. It can give them pancreatitis and that needs to be treated by a vet. Depending on the size of the dog, it could cost you $65+.

First of all you shouldn't give the dog popcorn, the shells can get stuck in there teeth just like our teeth and cause problems, afew pieces isn't bad not a whole lot. dogs like chocolate too but you do not give it to them it will kill them.

I've had some dogs who eat it and dont' have a problem.... and I've had some dogs who get sick. A little bit should not hurt, but I would not allow him to eat a whole lot.

too much of anything thats not dog food is bad...but picking up one or two on the ground isnt horrible
