I have a rash. It is not poison ivy or summac. I am allergic to tomatoes and was handling a tomatoe plant. I think it might be from that. I have used lotions usually for poison ivy, summac but it hasn't helped. What do I do to get rid of the itch?

Hydrocortisone cream would probably do the trick. You can buy it in any drug store. If you want to try remedies in the home, try making a paste of baking soda and water and applying it to the itchy part. This works especially well with itchy insect bites, but can also work on other types of skin irritations.

Benadryl lotion. It works great. Rite Aide has their own version of it and it's a lot cheaper.
I know, because I've been using it for my poison ivy!

Take benadryl and put cortisone on it, very thinly.
