Anyone else out there raised by thier grandparents because moms dead and dads a dead beat?

I am a grandmother raising my granddaughter because her mother died and her dad has mental illness. How is it going for you? I hope well. There's no way I can take the place of her mother, my daughter but she does have a safer more consistent and stable life because she's with me. And I love her so very much.
