Seriously, guys don't like that.
I was in NYC today, and every single girl looked exactly the same: obnoxious highlights, HUGE sunglasses, slutty tanktop, ripped denim skirt and ugly flip flops, and some stupid designer purse.
Seriously. Every girl.
Why do girls allow themselves to blend in like this? They don't look good like that, they just look like huge bugs who raided an Abercrombie and Fitch and Canal Street. Come on, there are millions of ways to look hot... be original.
Sorry, but I just had to get that out there. Thanks for listening.
Doesn't any girl want to be unique and individual?
Any guy would take a different style over a girl who looks just like the one two feet away-- especially me.

because people who try to be original or to stand out in the crowd get ridiculed for it.
ever seen a girl with green hair get treated like a "normal" person?
what about goths ... people stare and point all the time.
some feel that it's better to blend in then to endure the ostracism that sometime comes with being unique

Society for youth is full of peer pressure to fit into a certain "mold" in order to be popular. Being popular helps to build self confidence. This means wearing what the "in-crowd" is wearing and have the same hairstyles, etc. If they don't do these things they don't "fit in". And teens can be terribly cruel to other teens they deem "different".
I obviously can't speak for teenage girls today, and I can't really even speak for all teenage girls from my teens way back when Jesus Christ was a little boy >;-) but I always wanted to be unique -- still do -- I fact.Unique is my middle name. And the older I get the more fun it is.
I do think that the need to prove oneself "worthy" to be in a certain group will dwindle with a bit more maturity. Individualism and creativity will come out as they find themselves.

Well, I don't look like that -- thank God. The reason, though, is that most of the girls feel like they're ugly if they don't fit into some specific image. Friends and guys convince them that they'll only look pretty if they become some Britney Spears clone, so they buy into it. Looking for a girlfriend? It's good to hear from a guy who's not looking for some blonde bimbo who knows nothing except what someone else says looks good.

It's not only teenage girls, believe me. Girls well into their twenties and thirties do this too. It's the same thing on the west coast. A bunch of lemmings who want to fit in, no originality. Or maybe they really think they look cute with all that extraneous junk.

I don't really have the moeny or the time to worry about that stuff, but I try to look good. As a teenage girl, I guess I'd say we don't realize it, and everyone thinks they're original...Personally, those big bags and sunglasses look ugly to me...Not sure what it is with other girls...

For many teenage girls, the most terrifying thing is isolation and rejection. To stand out is to make yourself vulnerable. The best way to be accepted, is to be like everyone else. Sad, but true.

Because they are teenagers. For a teenager the most important thing is their version of 'fitting in'. They will develop more individuality but it will be later on when they realize they don't have to be like everyone else to fit in.

Many women follow the fashion trends and try to be exactly like everyone else. It takes a lot of courage to follow your own fashion sense.

That's what's in style. I don't think lots of people unique and idividual, they want to follow fashion trends.
