Well, I am not a parent of a 15 year old, but i do teach 15 year olds and I constantly tell them that they are not old enough for curfews, they have no business out of the house without their parents. I believe that curfews should be given when the child is more responsible around 17

I always know where my 15-year-old is. She does not have a formal curfew because when she goes out she is driven either by us or by a friend's parent and she always gets home at a reasonable time. She is my youngest. Her older siblings did not go out on their own until they were a little older, more like 16. Then the curfew was 9 pm on a weekday night, otherwise 10 pm unless it was a special occasion. By the time kids are 18 (legal adults, going off to college, etc.) you can't really enforce strict curfews, but I need to know basically where they are and when they will be home. Also everyone has cell phones so we can keep in touch.

I think a resonable time would be around 11:30 for the summer or weekends. Depending on the circumstances. I also believe teens should have cell phones, that way they can get ahold of the parents and vice versa. (and at the same time not having an excuse for not knowing the time)

But as for curfews.. I think it's better if the curfew is for when they leave the place they are at, rather then what time they are sopposed to be home. It's easier for the teen that way, instead of doing the math on how long it will take them to get home.

I can't say that I had a curfew @ 15 y.o. because I was in a bad home, moved out @ 15 y.o. I wouldn't recommend that to any 15 y.o. to any point. Yah, it might sound all cool living on your own & doing what you want, but come on .. by the time you're old enough to get a job, you gotta start paying bills! Paying bills sucks ... stay @ home until they kick you out!

I am a mother though, she is only 10 months old, but I think it'll depend on how she grows up & what her personality is like @ the age of 15 to give a curfew. I believe that if she is raised & grows up to be a good person & respects others, she can have a late curfew as long as I know where she is @ .... I'm not going to be strict, but she also isn't going to be out till midnight or what not. I believe 10 or 11 p.m. is a good curfew for someone 15 y.o. but it also depends on what she is out doing. If she is @ a friends house watching movies or what not .. then it can be later, as long as I pick her up from whereever she is @ & doesn't walk home. It just all depends on the parents though, hopefully my daughter grows up to telling me everything & that we have a great mother/daughter realationship!

My son is 15 and his curfew right now is between 10:30 and 11:00 at night. He must call if he is gonna be even 5 minutes late and he does. This curfew is only for weekends and because it is summer vacation right now. And yes i know where he is when he is gone.

I am not 15 but when i was 15, my parents always knew where i was and did not let me do anything that he knew was not right. My mom met all of the main people i hung out with and talked to them occasionally. As far as curfew, i had to be home by the time the sun went down.

Yes.. always... and a 10:00 curfew (weekends only) is a very reasonable one. A 15 year old should only be out supervised or in a group anyway.

My son .is 15. In the summer he has no curfew. He is respect full and is in by 12:00. he calls and lets me know where he is and who he is with. My daughter on the other hand will not be allowed out after dark alone. The only way she will be out is if she is with one of her older brothers or her daddy

I don't really have a curfew, as long as I'm not out really late my parents are ok.
