Call your vet and tell her that your cat is pregnant but also has worms-the vet will tell you what to do.

It's actually recommended to deworm a pregnant cat about 2 weeks before she gives birth. The worms somehow know she's pregnant and will come out of hiding 'hoping' to infest the kittens.

Pyrantel can be safely used at any time. This will treat roundworms (the stringy spaghetti-like ones). There are a number of both prescription and OTC products with this ingredient. Just make sure to give the correct the dose and she'll be fine.

Praziquantel is for tapeworms and can be found in the very imaginatively named 'Tape Worm Tabs' by Tradewinds. Officially the safety in pregnant cats 'hasn't been determined' but I've never had any problems.

Drontal contains both these ingredients. In the US you'll need to get it from a vet both it's sold OTC in Canada and Australia, among other places.

This is what I found on the internet:
"Generally you shouldn't use medicines in pregnant cats, so I don't recommend deworming during pregnancy - there's always a risk involved. On the other hand, NOT deworming is likely to have serious effects on mom and kittens. Mother cats with intestinal worms can pass worms on to the kittens through the womb (and later milk).

Some deworming products are safe to use in pregnant cats up to two weeks before birth. Usually this is mentioned in the product description. So... Treatment does not have to be harmful, but it depends on the product and the stage of pregnancy. If possible, ask your vet for advice before you buy deworming tabs."

If the worms are white and look like peices of rice for lack of better description they are tapeworms (caused by ingesting an infected flea) If they lok like anything else you can purchase HeartGuard for your cat. It is safe to give them while they are pregnant and along with preventing heartworms kills and prevents hook and round wroms. Call your vet (or local shelter) t find out about low cost veterinary care for your cat. Tapeworms can cause serious problems if left untreated and will take away from the nutrients the kittens should be recieving from te mother.
