You have a better chance of washing a kitten than a grown cat and if you can get him used to it, he may continue to tolerate it as the grows older. Do not bathe the kitten too often, as cats have natural oils in their skin that are important to keep their skin and coat conditioned. Maybe once every 2-3 weeks at most. Definitely, use a shampoo made for cats. And make sure to rinse then dry him thoroughly when you are done, then let him sit in a sunny spot to finish the job. The link below offers instructions on bathing a cat which might contain some useful advice. Enjoy your kitten!

I have used baby shampoo on mine. It is very gentle on her skin and it doesn't hurt her eyes if some should get in. If you are not trying to get rid of fleas than baby shampoo is the best.
Make sure you dry the cat right away and don't bath it when it is cold. Check the temp of the water too. Not too hot and definetley not cold. Dry the cat gently with a blow drier on low setting. Don't try to dry one spot at once but keep the drier moving.
Hope this helps.

People say use cat shampoo, but I use Johnson's baby shampoo. It works great and makes their fur really soft and smell good for a long time.

I would wash the kitten ONLY when they are foul smelling and/or full of poo if not, I would consider using a rag to get up dirty spots.

Yes, but be sure to dry her thoroughly afterwards. If you do it early and often, she'll even come to appreciate and even enjoy them. But like others have said, use mild cat shampoo.

We do give our cats a bath every month or so.
We use pet shampoo. They have actually learned to like it.

If the cat likes it, go for it, but when you do, use cat shampoo and make sure you keep him very very warm afterward.
