They do it to suit themselves and to support what they are preaching. And yes they are. I say that as a christian that is appalled by it all.

The bible as we know it was written approximately 2000 years ago, give or take a few hundred years. It was written mostly in Aramaic, then translated into Latin a few different ways, then translated into English a few different ways. Literal translations never make sense, and translating something for meaning is to throw in a certain amount of interpretation as to what the translator thinks is being said.
So really, anyone that takes a translation of the bible as god's ultimate truth is living a lie. Go read it in the original language it was written in, even then most of it is hearsay years after the death of Jesu. It's just a story to help guide you in life, don't take it too seriously.

YES!!!! Just read the bible, the whole thing is contradicting and hypocritical. The thing is though, if you really pay attention to life you'll find that many things are. Humans are humans. And though we try to speak and act like we aren't a certain way, we usually fall into the same problems and situations that others do and then become are own hypocrite's.

Are you so stupid as to not know the difference between quoting a verse out of context to change the meaning and quoting a verse out of context and not change the meaning?

The bible is a buffet table. You choose what you want to believe in and leave the rest. If you don't like a certain message in the bible, say it's out of context so you can continue living with yourself. Self deception is a Christian's best friend.

no what you did was try to twist the scripture to mean what you wanted it to mean ......you can not take a verse out of the word in the way you did and make it mean what you want it to....the other verse you are referring to is complete in its explanation of its meaning ...the second one you sent through had no clear meaning aside from the verses before or after......that is why there is so much confusion for those who just scan through the Word and pick at things they want to share....you must study the Word to know its true meaning..

Thats not a matter of faith or being hypocritical, its a matter of understanding.
And you cant seriously expect everybody to be able and give you an adequate answer, can you?
If you dont want to quote scripture then dont do it yourself and just point out that you dont want it to be quoted and all should be fine:)

No verse supports homosexuality (a form of sexual immorality). If you find one you are clearly taking it out of context.
Probably something like the misuse of
Philippians 4:1
Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends
Love here is not the Greek "erros", sexual intimacy
