Bono is a rock star, and has every right to enjoy the trappings of his stardom. To suggest that he should starve himself and jeopardize his health because he's been to places in the world where people are suffering and dying of starvation is ridiculous.
Bono doesn't have to publicize his views about poverty. The people he's trying to help can't afford to buy his albums or concert tickets, and in that sense don't help him.
In my opinion Bono is supporting a noble cause and is raising awareness as to the plight of these poor people.
Even if Bono were to liquidate everything he has in order to feed the starving of the world, his money would run out before everyone was fed. He can't conquer this problem single-handedly, and as far as i'm concerned someone who is trying to help is a better person than someone who isn't helping.
I respect Bono for his initiative, and if I were poor and needed help, I would much rather have Bono than you in my corner.

What can we do to make you history? Oh I forgot, you wont be b/c no one will ever know who you are so you'll never be in history. Bono's trying to help the "2 billion plus people living in poverty". B4 you complain about other people helping, think about what you are doing to help and what you could be doing rather than mocking someone who actually is doing something.

Will starving himself in sympathy really help? We listen to stars more than we should, but at least he's trying to do something.
We do have programs that send money, and if they were going to work, why haven't we seen any results? Because the governments in Africa are either corrupt or powerless.
My brother takes food to refugee camps and said it sits on the docks because it's not safe to take it inland.
Bono has the attention of world leaders, so maybe he'll be effective in making a change where it is really needed. Let him wear his designer jeans, he's earned his money.

Just leave it alone. I've seen you post this question before. Why do you have such a bug up your asshole about Bono? There's lots of celebrities who make twice as much money as Bono and don't do anything to help anyone. Bono devotes quite a bit of his time and raises millions of dollars to help people. What have you done to assist people in need of help? Get over it!

Ya know, I'm so sick of all these celebrities who aren't doing anything about poverty. Okay so I was watching a show on vh1 and they were talking about how Sting spent $14,000 to get a Christmas tree planted in his house---think of what kind of help $14,000 could have done in poverty stricken countries! It's sick, it really is. At least some celebs like Bono, Brad, Angelina, etc. are doing something about it.

So you have a problem with him because he tries to prevent poverty AND wears nice clothing? Wow- next time I want to buy a bednet to prevent 2 kids in Africa from getting malaria I better put on some rags.
This guys helps people- who cares what he says if he helps people. Even if he is a hypocrite- why would it matter if he does the world some good?

Bono is doing a good job. People who are sick , hungry, and displaced out of their homes don't care what label he is wearing. They are just happy to have a pit for a toilet. sleep under a rag tent, share their sleeping mats with insects an reptiles, stand in line for the next meal, stand in long dusty and hot lines for their malnutritioned and dehydrated babies to be seen by the over-worked AND under compensated doctor in an equally hot tent. KEEP IT UP BONO!!!

I just saw a story on tv where he paid 1500 dollars to fly his favorite hat from his home in London to Italy so he could wear it to peform with Pavarati. I agree with the reporter who said that 1500 dollars could have been spent more wisely. She said as a humanitarian it looks like he would have considered this. The reporter also said he flew it first class. It was a VH1 program about how some stars foolishly spend there money. Look how many people that could have fed.

He's already history. He's a rock star with a grip of humanitarian awards for bringing awareness and raising money for poverty. Sorry Charlie, I think the man is here to stay.
By the way, the poverty stricken appreciates your love but they have yet to receive your check.

I don't know Bono. I do know poverty. If he does something about it, it matters. I don't care who he is, or why he does it...and neither do the rest of those who may benefit.
