Oatmeal made with water is fine. Milk makes creamier [but more caloric] oatmeal. I was raised on oatmeal almost every day when I went to school and I have been very healthy all my life. Drink lots of water, too, it's very good for you. I hope more teens read this and realize they should follow your regimen..eat healthy! Good luck to you, dear.

Well, oatmeal has a lot of carbs you'll have to work out anyway, so you might want to use water. But if it has nothing to do with watching your weight, I'd say to just use low fat milk for the calcium. Or, you could just drink orange juice with extra calcium in it and still be able to use water.

If you eat oatmeal for breakfast do it with milk or if you just want to eat it any hour do it with water.

In my opinion it only comes out right when made with water. Then again I also make mine in the microwave instead of on the stove. I like to add some skim milk sometimes after it is done.

Milk is better if you want to make it creamier, if you will.
Water is fine, but tends to make it harden more quickly once cooking is completed.
What I normally do is put just a little less milk than what is required , and if it looks like it will be too thick after nuking, then I would add just a little more, and nuke again.

You usually cook it with water, but you can add milk to it after it is done. If you want it healthy, then use skim milk which has no fat in it. Instead of using real sugar, use Splenda.

Well it depends do you want thick and rich or not as thick , but still rich. For rich and thick I would use milk. Otherwise water. Also I would use milk because you said u want to eat healthy , milk is healthy.
