I was having coffee with my mom earlier and this guy came by and started preeching to us. That's not the first time it's happened either. He finally left when I told him I was wiccan and was going to turn him into a goat. You never see Buddhist's preeching to other people to join them.

Shame on you, if you practice Wicca, then you know that it is not a good practice to try and scare people with your beliefs. And we both know that you couldn't do that even if you wanted to. Earth based "religions" teach, love and kindness, and harmony, and acceptance.

Christians…. They have been told since the beginning that they will be sent to the fires of eternal hell if they do not obey the bible/commandments (which is very old…) and their religious leaders. Imagine a newly made Christian from a bad background… They have found the light and want desperately to get into Heaven. To do they want to spread the good word and convert as many non-believers to get extra “brownie points” to be accepted into heaven. Thus creating the pushy Christians you see on the streets… it’s a desperate attempt to erase their past sins. They would be better at gaining their “brownie points” by helping the community and people around them.

Buddhism is about respect and love of life. Not about how your will burn until the end of time. They do participate in shows/events/conference to make you aware of their religion, but they won’t jump all over you as there is no need.

Christians and Catholics preach so much because they know people are waking up to the fact that religion is no more than a control device to keep people doing what they want us to do, back when it all started you were burnt at the stake if you didnt do or say what a group of men said was the right thing to do, and now today if you arent baptised you dont go to heaven... load of BS.. they havent progressed far these religous leaders still trying to use fear as the biggest motivator for joining them, Humankind will not move forward in spirituality until the last brick of the last church has killed the last preacher. THEY PREACH TO TRY AND BUILD THEIR NUMBERS SO THEY CAN ONCE AGAIN HAVE A TIGHT GRIP ON THE PATH HUMANS CHOOSE TO WALK. AS HISTORY SHOWS ALL THEY WANT IS WAR DEATH AND MISERY.. CHRISTIANITY THAT IS.. NOT HUMANS OUR NATURE IS TO CARE FOR EVERY LIVING BEING IN THIS UNIVERSE... DID YOU KNOW THE BASIS FOR CHRISTIANITY IS THAT THE WORLD AND UNIVERSE IS ONLY 6000 YEARS OLD.. AND ALL ANIMALS ARE DUMB, AND THAT WE ARE THE ONLY INTELLIGENT BEINGS IN THE UNIVERSE.. so what are the thousands of animal species on this earth you certainly know that they are not dumb.. the sooner people stop joining religious organisations in all forms the sooner the human race will live in peace and tranquility with all beings of all kinds..

While I get a sense of where you are going with your question, I will attempt to offer you a reasonable answer.

Simply, it is part of the practice of the religion to "witness." Many Christians feel that they should tell others about the sacrifice of Jesus so that others can, too, be saved. I believe this practice has roots all the way back to Paul, who spread the message of Christianity throughout the ancient Mediterranean. Just as Jesus spread His word, so others do as well. Such practice of missionary work has often been an essential and important part of the Church.

But you are correct in noting that many other religions do not place as great an emphasis on converting others to their beliefs.

Paul wrote about the pick to start up the uninitiated into the sacred secrets and techniques of the mysteries of God. regrettably, which could no longer frequently understood contained in the non secular circles which have heaped even better 'mint, cumin, and dill' onto the recent believers. quite than protecting them faraway from any church committees and busy-artwork primary jobs they instead immerse them right into a pretend-religious lifestyle of churchianity. Church leaders reason those human beings to be so busy or maybe placed them in positions of authority that they assure stunted religious boom in those human beings for a lengthy time period. UP-attain before OUT-attain! this should be a lifelong motto for all Christians. attain as a lot as God and let your roots bypass down deep. Then, you're able to have some thing except your self to furnish once you start up to achieve out to others with the gospel. Jesus does no longer offend too a lot of human beings. study him by potential of a relationship and then modern Him to the international. human beings were always attracted to Jesus. in the journey that they don't look attracted to you once you talk about Him, you pick to provide up and have a inspect that!

Because Christians don't see it as pushing their religion on people. Rather, it would be wrong if they didn't try to help others achieve salvation. Buddhists don't believe in salvation and a god that demands loyalty, so there would be no point in asking others to join them.

Money and Power.
Christianity is the worlds oldest and most successful Multi Level Marketing scam out there.
If you do what the leaders say and pay your dues you are promised an eternal life in heaven. And while your at it, recruit some more sheep for the religious leaders to fleece.

Personally, as a Christian, I ask people if they want to learn about what the Bible teaches and if they say no, then I don't push them into it. Everyone has the right to choose not to learn about the Bible; but they should at least have the opportunity to turn it down.

And they wonder why they get "bashed" by non-Christians. I surely don't have a problem with good Christians who keep their faith personal and respect those that choose to believe otherwise. But those that judge and preach in the name of their god make me sick. They're just rotten, dim-witted people. I think it's that simple.

As a Christian we are taught to find the lost sheep. You being one of them since you appear to not be born again. See it as a good thing that a man of God wants you to see the light which is Jesus and not be condemned to an everlasting lake of fire in hell.
