Okay, so we have a camera that can record video and then it has the whole hook-up thing so we can put videos on the computer, but, the thing I wanna upload is a home video. Can I play the video on the tv while recording it with the digital camera? It's a hilarious home video and I wanna put it on the computer but I don't know how I could do that..let me know! Thanks so much to anyone who helps.

You're likely in the same situation as most: a camera with USB to RCA cables and no way to connect them to your PC, or your system doesn't have Firewire. In any event you can purchase a video capture device that will serve as an interface between your vidcam and computer and then move the file to the PC. These devices also come with some type of simple video editing software so you can tinker with the video (add titles, sound, music, etc.) and then burn it to digital media or upload it to the Internet. The link below will take you to an example at "tigerdirect.com".

Most of the todays Camcoders have USB and IEEE 1394 port, for transfering pictures and Video.

U can't transfer video to computer using USB cable.
Heres a snippet for Canon Camera....
I hope u hv Firewire port in ur machine and in ur Camera.....

IF not You can buy a external Fireware card..

Sharing your video is easy because the Elura 100 comes equipped with an IEEE 1394 DV Terminal. Known as Firewire or iLink, the connection is a high-speed, digital interface that ensures virtually no loss of video or audio quality when transferring videos to a computer. Simply use a DV cable to connect your Elura 100 to your computer's DV Terminal and your favorite recorded moments will be transferred with all their original quality.

Just hook up ur CAm with IEEE cable and there u go....

I hope this help....
