Why don't you ask the guy behind the pulpit which the congregation is supporting? Isn't it his job to interpret the bible and tell you how to think?

No way!! You are taking the verse out of context. Read on to Mark 7:18 and 19. It referred to entering the belly but not the heart of man. It will not defile his heart.

you must read the text fully...so to do that you need to read before and after to get the full intention of the scripture.....
13 thus invalidating the word of God by your (A)tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that."
The Heart of Man
14 After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them, "Listen to Me, all of you, and understand:
15 there is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man.
16 {If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."]
Jesus is telling us that those things in the world around us can not defile us...it is only when we act upon {speak or do} those things that it has that power.....so in other words...lets use your example homosexuality......
I can see it ...such as someone walking down the street and they are displaying affection to each other......I see this but until I participate in this behaviour it can not defile my life....
do you understand now?

You didn't read the whole thing. it goes like this....
There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.
I beleive Jesus is saying that the food that we eat doesn't defile a person, but it is the words and things that come out of our hearts that defiles. things like what Mark 7:21 says...For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.

Some books to read..Holy Blood Holy Grail, Bloodlines of the Holy Grail,Genesis of the Grail KIngs, Pagan Europe....The true story behind "The Da Vinci Code"... you'll find interesting things like what the holy grail was... A womans womb?..A carpenters cup?..ANd what of carpenters...back then they were known as something else..alchemists....Could Mary Magdolin's womb been a carpenters cup..my "cup runneth over"??..... I won't spill anymore... just buy, borrow... steal... but read!

No, it wouldn't make sense if you translate it literally, it's talking about morality. Translated literally, that would mean that a spear entering into a man, laced with arsenin, can't hurt him. The point of the passage was to emphasize that there is nothing that can FORCE sin upon you, it is always your choice, ultimately all the evil you attach to yourself came from yourself.

No idea... the whole book is kinda cryptic. Wouldn't take it one way or the other. After all it's over 2000 years old and pretty vague. Besides, if Jesus loves everybody and offers everybody forgiveness, then does small stuff like sexual preference even really matter in the big picture?

No. Read the the entire book of Mark. Read it without trying to have it fit in with your political, social, or personal agenda then come back and answer your own question.

Moving on to verse 20:
20He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' 21For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "
So sexual immorality comes from within, so homosexuality makes you unclean. Rape technically doesn't but that would imply you didn't want it. I say technically because in the OT if such an act occurred the girl (women are typically referred to for rape in OT) would be unclean and have to cleanse herself.
