Go for platform shoes. They're the best, most comfortable. Not super thick, but about 1/3 inch thick max. They make walking in heels feel like walking on clouds.

Serves you right!!! LOL Were you embarrassed? Yes? GOOD! Why not walk around on marbles too while you're at it? Or shards of glass in your barefeet?
Many people think 5 inch heels look real "sexy", and depending on the rest of the persons looks very well might! But there's a HUGE difference between "sexy" and "slutty"!!!
Stick with 3 inch (tops), its a whole lot safer. Besides that... "Class" can't be made up for with looks.

Leave the heels. There are many women that have feet problems and back problems trying to wear regular heels for most of there life. You must have small feet not many shoes come in larger sizes in heels. that high! Keep the high heels to a minimum height. You will hate yourself when you break your ankle or leg or slip a disk in your back.

Well, start off with 3 inch heels, see if they work out and you don't fall.
Then move on to 3.5 inch heels
Then to 4 inch heels
Then to 4.5 inch heels
Then to 5 inch heels
But why would you want to wear 5 inch heels? Do you feel comfortable in them? I hope you're not wearing them in order to impress your dates. No man is worth the pain that high heels bring, or the acne that makeup brings, or the congestion that binding dresses/clothing brings. And any man that insists you wear them, is not worth YOUR time, because he obviously wants you for something you aren't. If you aren't tall then accept that fact, trust me sneakers and flats are more comfy, and the nice guys usually look for women who take care of themselves, and at the same time look relaxed.
Be yourself, and if you want to really look taller for your own person benifit, because it makes you more self confident (boy.. society these days...) then I suggest you stick with platforms, they're way easier to walk with, and they're way more comfortable, and go up to 5 inches (steve madden platform boots for example).

Practice, practice, practice. Do everything that you possibly can in your heels. When you are at home, wear your heels as much as possible. Eat, sleep, and live in your heels. No, seriously, the best thing to do is just get as much practice walking in them as you can. Good Luck~

First of all, all of the other people answering are just jealous that they can't half walk in 5" heels. Take smaller steps when you walk. Hope this helps.

You need to practice, practice, practice. Wear them around the house, apt. Wear them short distances all the time. You need to get used to walking in them. Good luck with that.

There is some product called foot petals. Also, practice, and be extra, extra careful.Hold handrails tightly while being aware of where each foot is, which, I know is much, much harder to do in heels!

Practice makes perfect!
Wear them in the house all of the time, cleaning, laundry, etc.
Wear them for that late night run to the convenience store, etc.

It was a good thing that your anckle did not break to pieces.Please do not wear 5 inch heels as they are made for death.Love your own height and stick to 3 inch if you still must wear heels.
