The boy next door is sixteen and my daughter is thirteen. There was an incident between the two that got them both into trouble. (If your wondering...she's still a virgin...thank god) He keeps sending her letters and text messages. Should we press stalking charges?

Yes. You should do whatever necessary to protect your daughter. ANYTHING. Up to, and including, moving, killing the guy, sending daughter to convent- ANYTHING.

Who feels threatened here? You or your daughter?

If your daughter feels comfortable with the guy, then it's probably you.

If she's the one who feels uncomfortable, then she should attempt to make it clear to him how she feels, via letters, text messages or whatever.

Pressing charges should be the LAST resort!

Talk to the parent first. And set some ground rules for your daughter to be enforced with out wavering. This will set the pace for the rest of your teenage dealings with her.

He's pretty young, yet. Can you talk to his parents? Have an open meeting with the kids involved - give them the information they need to know.

No! But you need to sale your house and move asap. Seriously all we can do as parents is to raise our children and instill in them good morals and teach them to respect themselves and others be compassionate, empathetic but to also be strong and to have integrity, after that it's up to them. Good luck!

I would definitely see what could be legally done, talk with the police, they'll give you an idea of what can be done. She's too young for that stuff.

You can only press charges if she no longer wishes to have contact with him.
