Ford has a program called "Mobility Motoring" that is perfect for your friend! Ford will help him pay for for adaptions to his car. Tell him to go to fordvehicles.com and pick out the kind of car he wants, Then call his local dealer. they should know the name of companies in your area that do adaptive products. Since each individuals handicap or disability is different , the modifications are made based on his needs. I just did this for one of my customers recently on his new mini-van & Ford reimbursed him the total $ amount. He's bought several vehicles from me & the process is really quite simple. Tell him to make sure he asks for a salesman {or salesmam, in my case} that knows about handicap modifications & Mobility Motoring. That way he won't get stuck with an idiot salesperson. Good luck... & thanks for careing enough to help your friend with the research.

Depending on your friend's situation, Social Services may provide some help with either the purchase or with a dealer. There are dealer who handle these vehicles specifically, due to the specific requirements of each individual.

Buy it anywhere and get it converted. Most dealers know where the local conversion shops are.
