You need to check your cable system to find out if they carry Univision, Galavison or Mexican Channels, like 2 or 5, on www.jumptv.com you can get channel 12 from Monterrey (Northeast Mexico) which is pretty basic stuff, local programming and such. Try to get dvds with novelas, (soap operas) the stories stink but the language is invaluable. Try to get a subscription to National Geographic in Spanish and ask your cable operator to tell you if they carry the Latin American version of Fox, Warner, Discovery and Nick channels, these are in Spanish.

Also read a lot in Spanish, get into newspapers online and read the news in another language or listen to the news on www.imagen.com.mx which has audio and video buttons you can push to listen to their programming live.

Good Luck

The easiest way to learn ANY language is to find somebody who speaks it. In the case of most languages, if you have a King James Bible, you can carry on a decent teach -each- other- the -language, by using both an English and a Spanish Bible. The Spanish Bible is almost word-for-word like the KJV, except for the "thees" and "thous", and "verilys", use "you" and "truly".

seems like everyone thinks that all Latin people speak "Spanish". Spanish is the language of Spain. all other Latin countries speak a language derived from Spanish. a lot of the words may sound the same but they have different meanings. Spanish is spoken in Mexico city but if you go to the border towns, its a different dialect with Spanish mixed in. in Texas they speak what is called TeX-Mex. TeX-Mex, Mexican, and Spanish are different. depends where your at. the castillian language which is the language of Spain is taught in schools, and if you go to Texas and speak it there, a lot of the Latino people will not understand what you are saying. like i said, some words are used that sound the same, but have a different meaning

Go to www.transparent.com. They have combo 31 language program with Spanish. It has voice print comparison so you can match the inflection of native speaker. It is cheap enough. I got a copy a couple of years ago at Wall Martinez for about $10.00.

You can rent or watch movies and put the CC (closed captions= in Spanish so you can start picking up stuff. Also, try to have a dictionary handy just in case. Buena suerte!
