I do know that God already did that. I'm not asking this to be a smart ***, I really want to know.

I don't believe it's about the child in which you are really asking. I believe you are really trying to get to how much faith one has in God to be obedient in doing what he asks of us. It really doesn't make a difference what the result may be. Of Mary, it was her only child So that he may be glorified in someone's life. For someone else it could be as simple as giving up potato chips as to not to cause another who is on a diet from stumbling. Whatever, it is are you willing to sacrifice something that is important to you for others. Do you trust God that in your sacrifice he will be glorified and you will be blessed?

Such was the test of Abraham, a story that is a cornerstone of Jewish, Chrisitan and Muslim faith.

A great book on this very issue is "Abraham on Trial: The Social Legacy of Biblical Myth" by Carol Delaney. It considers a murder trial in California, where a father killed his daughter because he said he was commanded by God to do so. It then examines archelogical and biblical evidence for child sacrifice, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim interpretations, psychological interpretations, and the social legacy of such a powerful story.

If someone other than God asked you, like for instance your own conscience, would you be wiling to give up your own life for anyone at all?

Now that's a more realistic question to me.

To be honest, I don't know if I have the courage in that decision, to do the right thing.

No I believe that God would not ask me to sacrifice the child I had from my womb because that connection is eternal and we all came from a mother's womb so that would be unnatural to cut the most primary and essential tie. I could not.

NO i whould never do such a thing! i dont care if God whould destroy me. that shows that God is a bully if that were the case

the God of the christians Jews and Muslims is not worthy of being called god. more like school bully with dark powers.

God would not ask that of you, so the question is moot. God gave the final sacrifice 2000 years ago. It will not happen again-it is finished.

Well, if you are referring to Abraham's being asked to sacrifice his son, remember he never did, God stopped him. Also, God never said it was for the sake of humanity.

I would, but with great difficulty. To quote star trek "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and the one." I would feel pain for what I would do, but it would be selfish to let humanity die just so my child could live.
