what's the best police scanner to buy?

$ being no object. Why is digital scanners better and what can they do that others can't.

Probably the best scanner on the market right now is the Radio Shack Pro-96. Very minimal effect on rebanding

Don't ya just love it when you see replies like those above, tells me they're out dated. Look into the "TrunkTracking" scanners and perhaps join a scanner group for updated frequencies, with proper info you'll hear everything except cellular calls, enjoy.
