" lawmakers Saturday approved measures to encourage the attorney general to sue the federal government to require enforcement of immigration laws. "
"The Senate Judiciary Committee also approved a separate bill encouraging the state attorney general to do all he can -- possibly including a lawsuit -- to pry money out of the federal government for reimbursement of state costs related to illegal immigration."
"Also approved was a measure, which would put a measure on the November ballot asking voters whether the attorney general should sue the federal government to force it to enforce immigration laws.
"The General Assembly further finds that the state of Colorado spends a disproportionate share of its limited tax revenue on public services and benefits such as health care, law enforcement, criminal defense and incarceration, and education that are provided to illegal aliens as a result of the federal government's failure to enforce immigration laws."
What do you think?

It really pisses me off that the President just decided it was ok to ignore these laws because they were inconvenient to a globalization policy he had no voter mandate for to begin with. Whatever happens with those here, I think we need teeth to make our government enforce these laws in the future.

Ustabeesurfgrl - Don't know if it will work. Will definitely draw attention, though! The feds cut out of the budget the small % they used to pay of CO's costs in imprisoning illegals - they might put it back in. CA (where I live) has similar (worse) problems.

Heck yeah-they have overtaxed our medical, educational, and govt. programs to the max! That's one reason why Americans can't get them !
If it wasn't for illegal immigration, we'd be able to raise minimum wage to $10.00 per hr. Currently, Americans are working for wages from 1985.
So why is it a good idea to allow an Amnesty program? uh.....gee I forgot.

I think it would be impossible to enforce and actually hold the federal Government accountable for failure to enforce immigration laws as they would contend that they are doing it and in fragrant cases where illegals cross the feds would also say the state government's were not doing enough. I think the secret to getting a handle on the illegal problem lies with enforcement against the people that provide the employment and jobs that brings the illegals over the border. If the jobs dried up they would have not choice but return. If the penalty was stiff enough that no one would dare chance providing a job then you would see the desire to be here also turn. Many say it's necessary we have them due to not being able to find enough labor to work the fields or certain other jobs that Americans will not work. I disagree but think if you make it financially hard on business if they get caught providing jobs as well as possible criminal time in jail then when it becomes not worth the risk the jobs will stop. If need be take the welfare people that get checks for doing nothing and provide those jobs for them to work. If the work is that hard then people will find other employment as the incentives would be there to do just that.

For the guy who said he was recently in Colorado and didn't see any Mexicans, I think he better open his eyes! I lived in southwest Colorado, and it is a problem. Illegals walking down the street. Headlines in the papers all about the problem there. Better do a little research....And I think it would be great to sue the government, but it wouldn't work...

I think it is bullshit.
Jesus........this is going to far.
Now we want states to sue the federal government. How crapass ridiculous is that. Next......we should make each state a country within......COME ON.
I agree that states with a REAL "illegal immigration" problem should be compensated BUT this is just ridiculous. OH and next question.....OH WAIT I have TOO many.....who decides what states have been "over extended"...., who decides how much.....the states......wow.....I can't go on.
A ballot asking for enforcement.......JESUS...... don't these PISSY states have anything better to do (hmmmm) than think up crap like this. Here is a common sense question......IF THEY AREN'T DOING IT NOW......WHAT MAKES YOU THINK A CHECKMARK ON A VOTERS CARD IS GOING TO CHANGE THAT..........that is the reason we are here now. My goodness!
Oh that is what I think.

Yes, that is moral, right, and Just! I read that too -
How unfair could it be to force state governments to bust over ferderal policies??
I hope each and every state does the same thing!! I know Florida won't though - Jeb (Bush's brother) is a complete pro-illegal, if you go to tbo.com, you can even see a link to La Raza!!!

It won't work in Utah where Mark Shurtleff is in Mexico's back pocket....Mark is our Attorney General. He met with my husband and me about an assault on May 1 at the Illegal Rally, promised he would look into it and get back to us. I watched him do the Politician's Tap Dance and left his office absolutely disgusted with him.
AND Governor Huntsman apparently adores Vicente Fox and is working with him for "better relations between us".
Our job in Utah is to get these idiots out.....we tried to get Cannon out in the Primary, but he also ran a series of blatant lie ads talking about his "hard stand against illegals". After winning against a true American, he wasted little time in re-aligning himself with Bush's shameful plan for amnesty.
The Ted Kennedy mentality is alive and well in Utah and it will take a little time and a lot of work to get the people educated.
I have continued to be amazed at the idiocy of Massachusetts for constantly returning Kennedy to office...don't those people think!

It is happening more pal. But I would carefully watch the Senate-most have an hidden agendas which is too screw you.
The Republicans are still afraid of "we the people".
I say every action we may take to show them who "we the people" and Yes the majority are the better-lawfully.

A group called "Jucial Watch" has been doing the same thing elsewhere-by law.
It seems more and more groups are saying something needs to be done. And many are taking action against those who won't do anything.

The way to get even is to vote their as*es out of office especially Kennedy, McCain, Boxer, Feinstein, Reed, Reid, and others. for not enforcing our laws. Take their jobs from them
P.S. 7th wave.............. yeah they took the slaughterhouse jobs form the blacks, they would get their jobs back, and make a good living again. And all the jobs at Tyson chicken, they took those to.
