my son's first bike was stolen this morning. He was pretty pissed off, but he should have locked it up. It's more or less a good lesson in responsibility for him. I lost 150.00 but still a good lesson learned. Hopefully!

I've never had this problem while growing up because We lived in a community where if you were caught stealing or lying you got you a$$ beat and then you had to go home and tell your parents what you did wrong and get your A$$ beat again.

I was just wondering what people do with the bikes after they take them. I was hoping for the input and the possibility of catching the little crackhead biotch that took it. Not that I have sinister plans for the little Focker, but it would be nice to see a smile on my kids face.

RESP. First off my son doesn't see any of my questions on here, that I have asked or otherwise. So, infact, he would not be given any negative aspects to the freak who stole his bike. The complete pissed off attitude is in my mind. Ya I'm pretty ticked! I think I have the right. I'm not going to sugar coat it to my kid either. It was his responsibility to keep up with his belongings. That load of crap about taking it easy on those w/ less morals/less fortunate than yourself is out the door. The kids out there today aren't growing up in closets. They are surrounded by society, teachers/councelors. I work damn hard to support my kids and make sure there is money for him and his sis to go to college and I also demand that they take responsibility for their actions. You gotta love Newton! If we keep letting people, and kids for that matter, get off for even the most petty bs they do than we are going to be a society of retards. No one is going to hold anything of value.

When people steal bikes, most of the time they will change the paint and fix it up then they sell them, they sell them for high prices because they do all they can to make that bike look brand new.
People are ignorant when they steal and often times they do it because they are involved in bad things .

People just amaze me with their piggish behavior

I used to artwork in a usual floor workplace (workign for the same small employer who insured my bike no much less!), up a double flight of metallic stairs, and used to fasten my bike up on the precise. 2 locks - one on each wheel, around the physique, and around the metallic of the stair physique. The bike grew to become into for sure seen, with the aid of a curtained glass door, precise from my table. by some skill, interior the process an afternoon my bike grew to become into stolen from there. undergo in innovations the two (no longer so decrease priced) locks, the fact i might desire to be certain it each time I regarded up, and that springing up metallic stairs silently, and TAKING a motorcycle DOWN THEM silently is close to impossible, I haven't any thought how they did it. The worst difficulty grew to become into they left a small childs bike at the back of, a tiny difficulty with stabilisers. talk approximately very final insult. In answer on your different questions, talk to the insurance concerning the wheel, yet you will likely discover the coverage extra is extra advantageous than the wheel besides. A back wheel for a Carrera Subway is ninety 9% quite a prevalent 26" wheel, yet your bike save will be certain this. you will additionally want a hub, a cassette (which fits the form of gears that your kit lever has!) and bearings, axle, etc. in case you ask a motorcycle save to set it up, they are going to sort that one and all besides. to boot (as though its no longer long adequate already), around our way (purely out of London) its elementary to be certain properly locked motorcycles smashed up. in the event that they are able to't take it, they kick the wheels in and destroy the spokes, burn the saddle, despite they are able to do. Absolute scum.

I think you should give children a break. If a child steals it's probably because the children are being brought up without morals--but being an adult and calling other children names will not teach your son morals!! Maybe you should concentrate on this. Perhaps you can tell him that the child who took his bike probably is not as well off as he and explain to him that it is wrong, but instill understanding in him, not hatred or revenge!!!

I stole a bike that wasn't locked up in college, rode it home, and left it unlocked at my dorms bike rack. It was gone by the morning.

One of my ex-boyfriends stole a bike once, from an ex-roommate of mine. He actually rode it, as in exercise. Ironically, someone stole it from him one night.
