You need to buy "Shredded Cheeses" and sprinkle them on you chips, then Microwave them for a Min. or less or More. My family does this all the time....Quick fix nachos. Or you can Buy Velveeta and add Colby jack or any other cheeses and a 1/4 cup of milk and make good Nachos that way. If you buy velvet ta Cheese , there is all kinds of recipes in the box. But for a Quick Fix We use "Shredded taco cheese" on Tortillas in the Microwave. If you don't have a micro wave then use a double boiler or a small pan of water about 1/4 of water with a smaller pan of cheese inside and when the water boils then the cheese will melt.

How to do this well depends on what kind of cheese you are using. There are kinds of cheese you can buy in a jar that you can use--then warm up in a microwave. Using real cheese --the kind that come in waxed chunks or slices can be used--but you would for sure melt it att a low temperature. You could do this in the microwave or in a double-boiler on the top of your stove. You would want to watch carefully because melting this type of cheese is tricky. If the temperature gets too high, too fast, you will probably have a mess and tough cheese. Also you would want to add milk or cream to make
The best results I have had is using Velveeta-type cheese product. This is the type of cheese that comes in a box and is known as "cheese food." Cut the amount you think you need into chunks . Add about a quarter-cup of milk or cream--depending on how thick you want it.. Microwave on low until the cheese is melted. My friends love this when mixed with Ro-Tel chilis and used as a dip. Have fun and good luck!

With regular fat cheese like that, you have to make a sauce because once it starts to melt, it separates.
Use Velveeta, it melts perfectly just like nacho cheese. If you want it to have a kick, add some salsa or diced green chilies to it.
