Teaching kids how to be respectful just seems like common sense to me... Then again, maybe someone can prove to me that it's not.

I worked for HeadStart and I can ensure you that there are "real" families like what you see on the Nanny shows.
There are many reasons for what you see:
1).It's hard work to teach kids discipline and not all parents are up to the task while dealing with life in general.
2). Common sense isn't all that common. It isn't taught in a classroom and if parents have a lack of it - who teaches it to the kids?
3). Kids and their model behavior. Notice in the shows that one is a problem child and then ALL follow his/her example. It's called modeling or role modeling. You gotta love it!
4). The biggest problem: The parents grew up in indisciplined homes. Therefore, they live up to what they grew up with. They honestly don't know any better because to them it's normal. They need parenting classes and that's basically where Nanny type shows come in.

There is way more to parenting than having common sense. Children need consistency, positive reinforcements, guidelines, among many other things. If it were that simple then all of our children would act nearly perfect most of the time.I don't think that the parents on these show are necessarily lazy. It might be that they are just stuck in a rut due to previously poor parenting choices and need help getting back on the right track. It takes a village to raise a family, which means that we all can stand to learn from everyone that surrounds us.

i did not have a nanny myself transforming into up (had a SAHM) by employing my 2 youngest brothers did. on the instantaneous my Dad and Step-Mum were both executives, often times had early mornings or late nights, often times had to go back and forth, and having a stay-in nanny became unbelievable for our family individuals. I agree, it ought to were awesome if my Dad or Step-Mum ought to were a stay at living house figure, yet that wasn't the alternative they made. i became 10 and fairly did no longer have a lot say on the time. The nanny they chosen (after many, many, MANY interviews with women from a number of distinct businesses) is in the present day between the most important individuals of our family individuals, even although she hasn't regarded after my brothers for a decade. She became a former college instructor contained in the Phillipines and became shifting to Canada for a extra perfect existence for her and her children. because of her nanny artwork right here she's now been able to sponsor 4 of her 5 grown children to immigrate right here besides. Do I believe having a nanny so that you do not ought to figure, esp. once you're a SAH figure your self? No. Do I one hundred% believe the alternative my mum and dad made to have effective careers regardless of if it meant a lot less time with their family individuals? No, i do not believe that both. regardless of the indisputable fact that, having the right individual stay at your residence and help to care on your children once you're at artwork is extremely acceptable to three households. It worked out for us and that i won't be able to imagine absolutely everyone who cared and loved for my brothers more suitable than their nanny.

They are just afriad to punish their kids cause they want to be cool parents and not the ones that are hated. So the kids run over them and get there ways. But me, i wouldnt need no Super Nanny, just give them a lil cut a**.

my kids would never hit me,raise thier voice or act crazy like those lil white kids do. if you dont teach your kids manner or respect what the heck are you teaching them> how do they know how to yell like that? why do they think it is ok to yell like that and be rude and hit the adults. i know if i hit my mom or dad i would not be on the computer right now, i would be dead.thses parents need to riase thier voice a lil and spank the %$#@ out of them. if you spank a kid the first time guess whatthey are not going to do it again because they know you will spankthem again, or all you have to say is do that one more time and see what happens.

I wonder the same thing. Some of those parents are soooo dumb! The sad part is they seem to blame the children and its not the two year old's fault, its the parents!!!

It should be common sense, but nowadays many people are more interested in being their children's friends than their parents. You see it all the time now.

i think that its not their faults. teaching kids is a difficult taskt as i have seen myself. they have just made some mistakes that have led the kids to think they are dominant. they think they can do and have anything they want! so its not that they are lazy or clueless, they just cant bring themselves to be hard on their kids, so they get somebody else to do it!
