Take them to the morgue and have them view some real life drinking and driving victems...have them interview some of the families left behind because of a drinking and driving accident...then you tell me if you would drink and drive again?

Anyone caught drink driving should go to prison for 6 months -immediately.I was a regular drink driver(but only got caught once)
I was arrested, and remanded,I spent months in prison awaiting trial.By the time I went to court I had done 6 months which is the Maximum sentence here in the UK.

It may seem harsh but the time in prison sorted out my life.

The offence happened 9 years ago.-
I HAVE NOT REOFFENDED

I've heard of this new device. It's a breathalyzer that attaches to your ignition that has to be breathed into and report below the legal limit before you can start your car. I think that would help. I know that there would be problems, such as having someone else breath in it for you. In that case, though, I think the person who did that should get a stiffer penalty than the person drinking & driving.

i imagine the age regulations are really a lot okay. no count number number what the age is there'll be irresponsible those who bypass on binges or get in the back of a wheel even as they ought to not. it really is fairly extra about adulthood yet no one matures thae same so i imagine 21 is a competent age as any. the in ordinary words qualm I actually have about that is to do with the military. when you're previous adequate to die on your u . s . a . you're previous adequate to drink a lager. So I say enable it bypass lower back to permitting them to drink some beer even as on base!!!

The bartenders should take keys away from people and provide a bus/taxi service to get people home. Maybe give people leaving the bars a breathalizer test before driving. If you have 1 arrest for DUI or DWI....you loose you right to own a car and loose your license. If you need a car for work......too bad!

first educate the judges into not lettin repeat offenders out...my ex was done 11 times IN A ROW and hes still walkin free....just lucky he never killed any 1...the second thing would be to make them go to accident scenes with the police and ambo's who have to go and look at, pick up and wrap up the bodies of children, babies and women who dies due to drink driving, make em look at what they can cause, make em realise just how easy it is to kill someone with their stupidity...its an effective tool to put on gruesome add on tv like they do in australia here too...but if they arent inforced then theres nothing we can do...is all up to the government and the judges...is where it starts and where it HAS TO end!!!

This is the best thing. They actulay have these things. They just don't put them in all cars. Here is the back story. I use to work at Midas and I was about to work on this guys car and he said he had to stay with me while I worked on it just in case I had to turn it on. I was like why can't I turn it on. And he said no. It has a breathalizer built in it. I was like WTF!?! He said yeah I have to blow in here if I want the car to start. And if I fail the test it won't start. I was like well can't I just blow in it. And he was like no. It some how was coded only to him. He then proceded to tell me how he kept getting DUI's but whatever his job was he had to drive. And he drives like cross country. He said that they put this in his car from whatever state he is from. He says he has to blow in it to start it up and he also has to blow in it while he is driving like every hour. And if he doesn't do it or he fails when he blows the car will go into countdown mode and it will cut off at the end of the countdown. Local law inforcement will be notified and they will come to where the car is and take him to jail.

I swear to god no lie this is what he told me. So i mean we can do that. I mean not to that extent. I mean just put the thing in the car. Don't code it to you but just put it in there so if you are drunk and your friend is not he can blow in it and drive you to where you need to go.

Put a bar, pub, or liquor serving restaurant on each corner. So that there is easy liquor within walking distance of any residence.
But the real-estate folks want homogenous neighborhoods, and don't care about drunken revelry.
And every fifth bar should have naked ladies in it......but I divest..I mean digress.

Don't serve them alcohol or don't hang around them if they're drinking. If that's unrealistic or unavoidable, take their keys, hide them, and play dumb when they ask where they are. If you have to, to protect them and others on the road, steal their keys and be defiant. Then offer them a ride. Do what it takes. It's worth saving their life isn't it?
