Due to Scotty's advanced age, he has been using the lil blue pill to "beam up" people, perhaps you just need to let him recoup, I'm sure there is a long waiting list.

I think it's because you are trying to contact someone who is no longer alive. Mr. Doohan passed away last year. Maybe you should try for Kirk? Ah, then again, he's too busy hosting tv commercials, so I think he's stuck on earth. Heck, I don't think any Federation vessels are in space right now.

you should face nonetheless so as that he can come across you. once you get too fidgety, he can no longer get a reliable sign on you. Drop each thing and freeze! and end yelling on the destructive guy. He has your existence in his palms, after all.
